Amazing location for tourist. The room itself was fantastic and had all the amenities one would need on business or leisure travel. Easy access to the mall for any shopping, entertainment, or dining. Exceptional service. As good as you’ll get at any 5 star hotel. Staff was helpful on everything from booking events, shows and restaurants. Our suite had a large kitchen, laundry machines and living room (great for when you awake at 3am but your family is still sleeping!) The hotel is also connected to the Coex mall so quick access to some of the best shopping and dining. Also connected to two major subway stations along line 2. Also across the street from Restaurant Alley! Amazing selection of bbq, soups, tteokbokki, and Chinese restaurants. Also close to major theatres if you plan on seeing some amazing musicals. The property is getting a little run down and dated but is so clean their gym and pool are wonderful as well. As well, the price point on this hotel is the best for where it’s located in Gangnam and the amenities and services it provides.

I had a terrible experience in this hotel while checking in. I arrived around 3:20 pm with my car and tried to self-park at the parking lot in the basement of the hotel building. However, the parking lot was full (it seems that there were not enough spots in the first place). I called the front desk to ask how I can possibly park my car to check in. They told me to let me know but I received no answer until 4 pm. Finally, I went up to the main gate of the hotel building asking for help with parking but was only told that they would charge me about $20 for the valet parking. It is my first and worst experience that I could not find a parking spot to park my car before checking in. I expressed my complaints about it and the staff member at the reception desk took care of the situation waiving the valet parking expenses while apologizing profusely. Everything in this hotel after checking in was great. However, Oakwood hotel should take some measures to fix the parking lot problem. I don’t think I will be back to this hotel again (never again) as other great hotels (two Intercontinental hotels) are right next to Oakwood.
