With beach parties, Caribbean food, reggae, shady palm trees and pristine blue water, this is the perfect place to experience tropical Jamaica in style.

Experience the Jamaican vibe while lounging on a crisp sandy beach under swaying palm trees, with the glistening Caribbean Sea right there to refresh you.

Less developed than some of the other beaches in Jamaica, Seven Mile Beach is one of the more picturesque places and has sparkling blue water, white sand and black cliffs. Walk along this longest beach of the island, with the cliffs and the lighthouse in the south and the social hub to the north.

Cool off during a swim, pull up a beachside chair and read awhile and when you get hungry, order some lobster and coconut juice by waving over the eager beach vendors.

To see some tropical fish and coral, put on your scuba or snorkeling gear and dive underwater. Stingrays inhabit these waters, so keep your underwater camera ready.

Follow the cliff jumpers to the 35-feet (10-meter) outcrop if you feel adventurous and want to make a splash. The café overlooking the cliffs, above Pirate’s cove, is the most popular gathering place to watch all the stunts and the local youth takes advantage of this by coming around to collect money for their spectacular dives.

The beach has restaurants and clubs along its shoreline, so you can watch the beautiful Caribbean sunset and indulge in barefoot fine dining while the daylight fades away. Soon enough the real partying starts, so dance the night away on the rhythmic Jamaican beats.

Seven Mile Beach is located in Negril, a small resort town on the westernmost point of Jamaica. The best way to get to Seven Mile Beach is to walk from the short distance from the center of Negril. To get to the beach by car, head for Norman Manley Boulevard. Beach amenities include showers, picnic tables and rest rooms.

Choose strategically from the many beachside accommodation options: Stay on the northern end if you want to be close to all the facilities or book a room on the cliffs if you enjoy the peace and quiet. Clothing is optional at some of the resorts that line this beach.
