We had a pleasant stay at the Waterfront Family Cottage. Rented for 5 days for 7 adults, the cottage boasts some great amenities including the paddle boat (which needs minor repairs), canoe (with only one actual canoe paddle and one kayak paddle), small dock, fire pit, water toys, and of course hot tub. Inside, the space is definitely cozy. Photos made the place look much bigger than in real life. The kitchen is very well stocked with all the tools you need and plenty of storage space. (Watch the fridge door. It needs a good push to stay closed.) Outside table and chairs situated too far from the cottage to be used.
The master bedroom seemed to be the only comfortable bed in the cottage, meaning 5 adults slept very poorly which was a real disappointment.
While this was out of the Owners control, there was also construction on another cottage just down from us that caused major noise pollution to what should have been a tranquil and peaceful environment. When mentioned to the owner, there wasn’t even an acknowledgement or empathetic response. Also, there is a train that runs by, adding to the noise factor.
It should be mentioned the cottage is on a river. The water is very shallow. While a small area has been sanded right at the edge of the cottage (really nice), expect lots of lake herbage by the end of the dock and no jumping in given the depth. Water is nice and clear.
Overall, we had a nice stay but I’m not sure the price tag reflected the overall quality.
