A breathtaking view - of a wide sloping valley, mountains blanketed with evergreens, and the sparkling Pacific Ocean - awaits at this hilltop home in Shelter Cove. Blissfully secluded and gorgeously situated, this is a place for truly unwinding on California's wild North Coast.

This two-story home is tucked up in the hills above Shelter Cove, a tiny oceanside community that sits within the King Range National Conservation Area. It's the gateway to the storied Lost Coast, with Black Sands Beach (two miles) acting as the trailhead for the multi-day Lost Coast Trail. In town, you'll also find a few local restaurants in a beautiful natural setting.

Each day here begins and ends outdoors, with two stories of ocean-facing deck space beckoning you into the fresh coastal air. Bring your first cup of coffee outside to the balcony adjoining the primary bedroom. At sunset, gather on the wraparound deck for dessert and coffee with a spectacular view.

The house is full of special touches, from the generous windows to the custom local tanoak handrail that winds up the staircase. Play board games in the windowside nook, choose nightly movies from the DVD collection to watch on the Hisense smart TV, and stay connected with the help of high-speed WiFi and a desk workspace in the primary bedroom. The best way to end each evening? A soothing soak in that bedroom's jetted tub, perched beneath picture windows with a sweeping view of the ocean.

No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us. The pet fee is per stay and ranges between $150 and $200, depending on the bedroom count, and will apply for each additional dog.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.
