"Akita and Rei were great hosts. Their house was fully stocked with everything you need, especially the kitchen. The house was located at a quiet neighborhood. You could walk to the beach and fishing port. We met locals who were really nice to lend us fishing poles for our stay. You could feel the real Japanese daily life and hospitality during the stay. "As much as I'd like to recommend staying here on your trip to bunny island, I cannot. The host did provide details for self check-in, but the property is in various states of disrepair. The AC is left off during the summer, so when we entered, it was hot and humid. The bathroom was left off as well and had accumulated mold. It smelled atrocious to the point we were pretty sure it would be a hazard to use it. I don't expect to incur any penalties, but the host also had many fee addendums...

There was a guide book left for us which had all the information we needed, including nearby restaurants. We stayed here as a mid-way point from Imabari to Onomichi because we were doing the Shimanami Kaido cycle route and it was perfect. The area is very rural so I would recommend purchasing food before you arrive, however, we were able to get a taxi to the supermarket just fine. There is also a Family Mart that is reasonably near. It’s a super quiet spot but perfect for what we needed. Very clean and well thought out. Definitely stay here if you get the chance!!! "

"What an amazing way of making the Shimanimi Kaido Route more enjoyable. Don’t ever doubt it and split your route in two days just to enjoy the place. Amazing rooms (it looks great in photos but the rooms are even better once you are there), BEAUTIFUL facilities and onsen with carefully curated design and really helpful staff."
