"The communication of the staff was excellent. The property was lovely and clean, the rooms comfortable. It is located in downtown Split, walking distance to all of the marina. They even arranged a ride to the airport for us. I would stay here again!"

"This property is on the 8th & 10th floor of a new modern tower block which already sits in an elevated position above the bustling port. The town, Diocletian’s palace and all the bars and restaurants are just a short walk away. The room was large, quiet & modern with a great view. The staff were very helpful and stored our luggage when we arrived early, and let us know as soon as the room was available. Very good breakfast with a view over harbour and islands."

"Brilliant location with everything close by. However having the climb up 3 floors with luggage for a large group was sheer torture. Once u get past that the location is very convinient until the day you have to leave again."

"My wife and I truly enjoyed staying at the Makarun. If you want to stay in Old Town Split, It is in an ideal location just steps away from all the sites within the palace walls. It has a well concealed, beautiful courtyard that provides a quiet escape from the visiting tourists. The staff is outgoing and friendly , and extends themselves to your every need. If you like small boutique hotels, with highly personalized attention, the Makarun would be a fantastic choice for your visit to Split....

"Friendly welcome and help with luggage up all the stairs. Lovely well equipped room and a surprise bottle of wine in the fridge. Quiet room, comfortable beds and a good shower. A very pleasant start to our holiday."

"The building is a medical centre and hotel. The entrance via a corridor off the main road and is initially off putting. It is a bit away from the main town but bus stops outside. The roads outside are busy and some traffic noise unless windows closed, but good air con makes this ok. The room was clean and bed very comfortable. Breakfast was a bit basic but nicely set out. Perfectly good place to stay as the reception staff were helpful and pleasant. It is stretching the point to call it...

"New, very clean, spacious quarters. Friendly helpful staff. Included breakfast was good - more than adequate with choice of hot/cold foods, breads, cereals, coffees, etc. Not sure what others are expecting for a small hotel with 7-ish rooms. Docked 1 star for parking which is expensive at 15 euros/night."

"Really close to centre less than 5 mins to the Riva. Lovely modern property, clean. Breakfast was OK and to be expected for such a small hotel. Continental with no hot options. However lots of places nearby if you wanted something like this. To improve would recommend adding a safe to the room. Thank you for a lovely stay. "
