Take one of the world’s steepest cable-car rides to the top of picturesque Bob’s Peak for views across Lake Wakatipu and beyond.

Winding up the side of Bob’s Peak is the steepest cable-car line in the Southern Hemisphere. Since 1967, the Skyline Gondola has been taking visitors to the summit of Bob’s Peak for views across the Queenstown and Lake Wakatipu area. Skyline also operates a number of adventure activities on the mountain. The gondola is the best way to access the mountain biking, hiking and paragliding that takes place on Bob’s Peak. The gondola cars are spacious and enclosed, providing comfort and protection from the weather during your journey. Take in the 220-degree views of Queenstown’s natural beauty as you journey above Skyline’s luge track. Enjoy the stunning spectacle of paragliders as they launch from the mountain, one of the most popular activities on Bob’s Peak. The mountain’s summit offers 360-degree views of Ben Lomond, Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown, making it a fantastic photo opportunity. At the summit you will find access to a series of mountain biking and hiking trails, the Skyline luge tracks, a bungee jumping platform and a range of other adventure activities.Combine your trip on the gondola with one of Skyline’s cultural experiences at the top of Bob’s Peak. Skyline presents a performance of the Kiwi Haka, the traditional Maori battle dance, alongside a program of traditional stories from Maori history. Reservations for the Kiwi Haka are recommended as the intimate performance has a limited capacity of 77 guests.Skyline also has a restaurant at the top of the gondola ride, and your meal can be bundled with your ticket. Book a table for the buffet dinner service to watch the sun set over Queenstown, one of the most picturesque times to be at the summit. The Skyline Gondola operates every day of the year. Limited parking spots are available at the base of the mountain, which is also serviced by bus from downtown Queenstown
