Snow Dunes is a fun activity park in the Doha Festival Mall where kids and adults can play in real snow. Qatar has a hot climate. As a result, young children living here may never have seen snow. Visit Snow Dunes for a wintery experience that will keep your offspring entertained for several hours.
Qatar's first snow-themed activity park opened in August 2019 and was an eagerly anticipated event by many local families. The 100,000-square-foot (9,500-square-meter) venue has snow-covered slopes built around a mock-up of an Arabian castle. Inside, touch the real snow that is created by 14 snow guns in a temperature of about 25 F (-4 C).
Bring your kids to Snow Dunes to give them a sample of what a vacation might be like in a wintry location. Upon arrival, have fun dressing up in snow gear, including jacket, snowpants, boots, gloves and a helmet.
Inside the frigid space, scale a mini mountain, have a snowball fight and build a snowman. The cool temperature here is a welcome change from Doha’s outside heat.
Snow Dunes has snow-covered slopes that children can ride tubes down and race against friends or families. Feel the chill wind on your face as you slide very fast through a closed tube. A smaller and slower version of this ride is available for younger kids, as well as a snowy merry-go-round.

Find Snow Dunes inside the Doha Festival City, north of the city center. Drive about 20 minutes to get here. You can also take a bus from central Doha, which stops right outside. Doha Festival City is known as one of the best malls in Doha. You’ll find plenty of off-piste activities at the mall, including visiting some of the 400 stores and 100 different restaurants and snack bars.
