The location was great, with a shop, bakery and small park in walking distance, and Evron and Le Mans short drives away - a great base to explore the area. The property had everything we may need, including games consoles which was a pleasant surprise to our children. "We transferred to this house after being let down by another. The owner communicated well (in French) with us as we made the transfer. Throughout the visit the owners communicated with us to ensure pool maintenance etc was not intrusive. A required repair was dealt with speedily and efficiently. The house is large with large grounds in a rural setting. The pool was heated to 26 degrees and maintained by the owner. It was the focus of our visit with the children and grandchildren. The apartment is very spacious and has been decorated to a modern standard, has a lovely garden for the children and had absolutely everything you could possibly need- very geared up for infants. "It was our first time at the Grand Hotel. We stayed at the hotel on our way to catch the ferry from Caen to the UK. The location is very peaceful next to the Solesmes Abbey. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the restaurant was of a high quality. Our superior room had a balcony and air con and was spacious. "The property is very beautiful and full of character and charm. The staff was very friendly and warm. We stayed on the top floor where the rooms are a bit older and could probably use a bit of a refresh but were still comfortable. Air conditioning worked well. Restaurant was very good. "
