"Great property a very short drive from Selfoss. We stayed a week in early November. The check in book is very thorough. I am very glad the beds were comfortable (rare these days with rental properties) and the owners were very quick to respond with all communication both prior and during our stay. The only complaints i can think of is that we could not find a switch to turn off the deck lighting which would have helped out on getting some better shots of the northern lights (which even with the...

"The cottage is in the perfect area to view the northern lights. It’s just close enough to the nearby town and just far enough to not get the light pollution. The outdoor hot tub for each individual cottage is perfect to sit in and watch the lights. They have the cutest ‘community’ dog that is very sweet and so well behaved. Just be aware if you are allergic to dogs! The bed seems to be a bit old and it was awkward to have just one side to get in and out through as the rest of the bed is up...

"This is a cute room to rent on a quiet farm. The only thing I would suggest is update some of the pictures of the actual building. We were confused when we arrived because the building we were staying in didn't look like any of the advertised pictures so we weren't sure if we were in the right place. Thankfully, they had signs guiding us to the right building. Also, we weren't fussy but some people may not be happy staying in an apartment attached to a farm garage. "

It would be even better if hotel adopted Dark Skies policies, as many guests like to catch the northern lights but there are too many poorly positioned path lights, patio lights and lights on the various buildings - and unfortunately it wasn’t possible to turn off or adjust lights. "Bedroom was comfortable with a good, hot shower. Bed was really good and well needed after a long day exploring. Loved all the little hooks around the room for hanging stuff. (Would have liked a drying room in the hotel for our wet things!) The food options were good as was the bar (if both a little pricey compared to UK prices) Roof terrace was nice to look out over the little town. Bakery and supermarket very close for bits and pieces. Walkable in a few minutes. Would definitely return here. We had a hire car and it was about 45 mins to the airport. On the golden circle though so easy to access all roads to wherever we needed to go. "
