Cottage steps from Private Beach! Lovely Ocean Views.

Beautifully decorated three bedroom/ two bathroom cottage just completed in June of 2020 is located on Russell Island just a short drive over the bridge to the historic town of Spanish Wells.

Duck Out sits on a property with a main house with its own small private beach. All Duck Out guests have access to this small private beach. Just beside the beach is a boat ramp in case you wish to rent a boat during you stay.

Duck Out has a master bedroom downstairs with a king size bed and a full bath attached.

On the second level are two large bedrooms with a full shower bath separating each room.

The west-facing bedroom with a king size bed has a 8-foot balcony to sit and enjoy the ocean and beautiful sunsets.

On the east side there is another large bedroom with twin beds which can be converted to a king. This bedroom has a super-private 20 x 12 foot balcony, we are so private that you can nude sunbathe if you wish.

Duck Out has an up-to-date full kitchen with all modern appliances. A few steps off the kitchen there is a large garden patio with a bbq to grill your fresh seafood, which is so plentiful here as you are in the fishing capital of the Bahamas.

Spanish Wells and Russell Island have many excellent restaurants, bars, grocery stores, and shops. The Sandbar restaurant and bar, which is oceanfront and has excellent cuisine, is just a mile from the house. The fishing, diving, and snorkeling on Russell Island/Spanish Wells are world class. Popular excursions include swimming with the pigs, which everyone loves. Other sightseeing excursions include Preacher's Cave, the Sapphire Blue Hole (with cliff jumping), Glass Window Bridge, and the Queen's Baths. Harbour Island trips can also be arranged.

Rates are on a sliding scale based on the number of guests. We set the rates this way to make the property more affordable for smaller groups who use less utilities and put less wear and tear on the house. If you enter the correct number of guests, the reservation system will calculate the rates correctly.

Excellent stay!!
House was wonderful. Property manager was fantastic! It includes a wooden swing with probably the most beautiful view of the ocean we saw! Property had everything we needed and more. We even met the owner of the property who was so nice and hospitable!

This was the absolute best stay! Duck Out was very relaxing and a comfortable home in every way. Our neighbors make you feel like family and are very helpful with assisting in island navigation. Joanne and Katie were amazing hosts, the grounds are beautiful with private beach access and outside dining area available. We would LOVE to stay here again!

Spanish Wells Gem!
Our stay at Duck Out could not have been any better. Property is super clean and well stocked with everything you could need. Great communication from the beginning with property manager and Joanne. Perfect location with beautiful view of the water. Endless views. The owner is also a sweetheart. Great conversations had. If you need anything at all they are right there to get it for you. Would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful island ! Amazing people
We enjoyed our stay at Duck Out :) The house had everything we needed. The caretaker was fabulous!! Joanne met us at the dock and took us to the home. She explained everything well and was extremely helpful !! We felt the beach access could have been explained a bit better, there is a beach but only when the tide went out, other than that a lovely home. The owner lives onsite, we met her once and she was a nice lady to chat with.

Perfect getaway
Staying at the Duck Out property on Russell Island in Spanish Wells was exactly what we wanted. Quiet, secluded, beautiful, peaceful time for the two of us. We mostly read, sunbathed, and had nice dinners. The house was clean and welcoming. We loved the front & rear decks upstairs. Only one minor inconvenience with the showers, but we kind of expected that being on a remote island. The hot water and water pressure weren’t exactly up to our preferred standards, but it wasn’t a big deal for us. During the week, we found a nice section of beach to use on the other island. The shoreline by the Duck Out house only has a beach during lower tides. However the water by Duck Out is beautiful. I had a stingray swim by me which was cool! My wife found a huge conch shell. Also, we were plenty satisfied with the restaurant choices. I think the Shipyard had the highest quality food, followed closely by Wreckers. Budda’s was a fun place with decent bar food, and the Sandbar was nice for drinks & snacks. We went to each of those places twice I think. Prices are a little high, but what can you do about that? Being on a remote island, I expected prices to be a little high. Groceries were expensive too. We bought breakfast foods, lunch meat and chips so we only had to eat out for dinners. Anyway, had a great stay and we will return to Spanish Wells for sure.

fantasic waterfront paradis
we so enjoyed our stay at duck-out! the house was spacious, comfortable and had everything necessary to cook a meal and to relax after swimming. the back patio has a dining table which is a lovely place to relax. We went to Spanish Wells to enjoy the beautiful island and were more than happy with our stay. They had snorkeling gear and beach towels at the ready and there are many uncrowded beaches to find and enjoy. the duck-out's owner, mrs. d, is lovely and welcoming. she offered the use of the swing that looks out over the water and the use of the backyard. the manager, Joanne, readily answered all our questions and made us feel right at home from the start. Joanne was available for questions about where to go and what to see. highly recommend the Duck Inn and we can't wait to go back.

Wonderful Stay
We truly enjoyed our stay at Duck out. As Nassau locals, we needed somewhere to stay while visiting with family on Russell Island. The house had everything we needed and was on a quiet road. We enjoyed going down to the little beach at low tide in the mornings in our pj's. Mrs. Duckworth was very kind and we realized that she knew our Dad way back in the day!

Your ideal Bahamian retreat
Duck Out is the perfect place to take advantage of all that Spanish Wells has to offer: waterfront location, spotless and comfortable accommodations and friendly and attentive host and property manager. We fell in love…

The beds were super comfortable and the living quarters were ideal. The outdoor spaces were a delight. We used all of the house! Kitchen was well stocked with what we needed. The laundry was great, especially the use of the clothes line outdoors. If you stay here, you will absolutely love the beach area. We placed our chairs in the water and soaked up the sun and the views! If you’ve never seen the Bahamian waters you’re in for a treat! We loved seeing the turtles swim by daily. If you have little ones, you can be confident of the depth of the water. Mrs. Duckworth lives next door and was super helpful and kind. We enjoyed our visits with her. Joanne, the care taker met all our needs, don’t hesitate to reach out to her for your taxi/ferry/golf cart rentals. She is just a text or phone call away. Email her prior to leaving your home, she will have worked her magic!All in all, it’s a great place to stay, clean, cared for and safe!

Duck Out is a gem
Duck Out is clean, well equipped and comfortable! The cottage is surrounded by beautiful landscaping, fruit trees and of course - the turquoise waters of the Caribbean. We sat and watched the sea creatures swim by and took several dips there too. It’s nicely situated near Spanish Wells, but tucked away on the more quiet Russell Island. The cottage owner and property manager are lovely people. Great place!

Relaxing and wonderful
Duck Out is even nicer than it looks in the photographs! Being able to walk just a few moments to swim at the private beach or look out from the sturdy swing made the location perfect, and being at the end of the street ensured quiet. Joanne, the property manager, couldn’t have been more helpful, and Kay, the owner of the property who lives next door, was welcoming as well. We loved our stay!

The place is so sweet and is practically brand new! Simple pretty decor with an open layout. Wonderful painted sea mural going up the stairs, bathrooms are clean and well designed. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook for our family while we were there. The gardens surrounding are beautiful and the water right down the road is exactly as pictured! Pristine:) It was so quiet and had fabulous sea breeze! We were visited every night by sting rays, turtles, a shark, and beautiful birds. Did have to go far to see amazing fish while snorkeling right off the beach. The flowers are amazing and the local goats are a hoot!! The air conditioner worked perfect and the place was spotlessly clean! The grill was a great bonus since we bought fish and lobster from the local fisherman. Washer and dryer are new and worked great since we didn’t pack heavy. We traveled with our two teenage sons and were very happy that it was so safe for them to go off and explore. The golf carts are fun to zip around in. Sunsets were breathtaking. We found many beautiful beaches and the people were so helpful and welcoming. The supermarket was stacked with everything you want. Lovely local items too! From homemade local guava jam and Johnny cakes to Irish butter and sausages! A few sweat spots for dining out with great views of the water and island. Delicious ice cream from poppa scoops. Easy access to Covid screening. Joanne is a star!! She helped us plan out our trip and took care of all the details! She Knows the ferry man, the taxi drivers and the best place to rent a car on the mainland. She knows Spanish Wells very well because she was raised there. Quick ferry ride to Eleuthra for daytime exploring was amazing! The owner lives right beside the cottage and was so welcoming and kind to us! Five stars!! We will def be back:)

Beautiful and comfortable spot
This is a lovely property in a nice quiet spot on Russell Island. No need to worry that it is a drive to Spanish Wells - it is a quick golf cart drive! Having three comfortably sized bedrooms and gorgeous views from both balconies and front door, we enjoyed every moment. The beds are very comfortable and we all slept well. The time we didn't spend in the water was spent sitting on the bench swing or comfy chairs spotting fish, starfish, turtles and conchs in the indescribably blue water.
