Meadow Cottage is a two-bedroom conversion on one level, offering peace and quiet in superb surroundings.
Meadow Cottage has two bedrooms both with ensuite bathrooms. The master bedroom has a super king bed (which can be rearranged as two singles), flat screen TV and an ensuite wet room. The twin room has an ensuite shower. Both bedrooms are made up with luxurious bedding and soft fluffy towels are also provided.

Extra luxury is added with a spacious, light and airy beamed lounge, which adjoins the extremely well equipped kitchen with dining area. The kitchen has everything provided to cook up a feast and the views from the kitchen won't disappoint. The living area has a smart TV and a huge selection of books, DVD's and board games if it's a rainy day or you just don't want to leave the cottage! Arched windows and doors also lead onto a lovely south-facing patio, which provides glorious views of the Cleveland Hills and is complete with garden furniture, barbecue and a large lawn area. Gorgeous spring lambs can be found in these fields that will definitely keep you entertained, they are a favourite with children in the Easter holidays. There is a lovely pub in the nearest village which is one mile away and also a village shop. There are plenty of beautiful countryside walks directly from the cottage.

Meadow Cottage can be booked with Garth Cottage for groups of 8 people- ideal for family get togethers.

We are located in County Durham between Bishop Auckland and Newton Aycliffe, only 8 miles from the City Centre of Durham. We are close to local attractions such as Auckland Castle, 'Kynren- an epic tale of England', Durham Castle and Cathedral, Beamish Museum, Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, Newcastle, Weardale and the Durham Coast. The Yorkshire Dales, High Force and Teesdale are also well worth a visit.

A lovely cottage. We will happily rebook.
A comfortable well equipped cottage in a beautiful farm setting. I have mobility issues so parking outside with a ramp to the door, no steps and stairs, and bedrooms with ensuite facilities was ideal. A no-pets policy and hypoallergenic bedding solved an allergy health issue and the beds were very comfortable. The sitting room has access to the garden and views over fields where sheep were sometimes grazing. The obliging host quickly dealt with a heating problem so we very cosy.

Charming Cottage with Stunning Views – A Perfect Retreat!
We recently had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful holiday cottage, and it exceeded all of our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the tranquil surroundings and the breathtaking views that instantly set the tone for a relaxing getaway. The cottage itself is incredibly comfortable, with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The living areas are cosy yet spacious, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The bedrooms are equally comfortable, with plush beds and thoughtful touches that ensure a restful night's sleep. One of the highlights of our stay was simply taking in the gorgeous views from the cottage. Whether we were enjoying our morning coffee on the patio or watching the sunset in the evening, the scenery was nothing short of spectacular. The peaceful setting truly allowed us to disconnect and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. In addition to its charm and comfort, the cottage is very well-equipped with everything you could possibly need. The kitchen has all the modern conveniences, making it easy to prepare meals, and there’s even a lovely dining area where we enjoyed our home-cooked feasts. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into ensuring that guests have everything they need for a hassle-free stay. Overall, this cottage provided the perfect backdrop for a truly memorable holiday. We left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a peaceful r

Pity about the weather
The property is spacious and well maintained. The owner is very responsive and we would not hesitate to return. We were visiting relatives in the area, so the poor weather was a nuisance rather than a disaster.
