The area around the hotel is fast changing and was once very run down. It is coming up quickly now and the promenade in particular is clean, safe, well designed, and nice place to hang out and walk down to the Old Town in Hastings.

good pick near Hastings
"Great stay as we traveled the south coast of England. Wonderfully walkable waterfront with a lot of restaurants just steps away. Very nice and helpful service at the front desk, and parking was super easy."

A rundown place with more than its fair share of winos. The gay pride march was good and punctual

At Leonard's has s tranquil feel to it and has a good selection of eating places. The beach is a pebble one but great walk above or below the promanade. Hastings pier is walkable but the local authority often lock it up.
