From carving pristine runs to riding a scenic gondola and shopping at a farmers market, Vermont’s tallest peak offers activities for everyone.

Plan for a vacation of breathtaking scenery, sporting adventures and performing arts at Stowe Mountain Resort. Ski in winter and bike, hike and play golf in summer. Watch live music performances, dine at the varied restaurants and shop for upscale fashion and sporting apparel. Stowe Mountain Resort sits on the slopes of 4,393-foot-tall (1,339-meter) Mt. Mansfield, the highest mountain in Vermont.

A major attraction of the resort is its long ski season, which runs from mid November to mid April. About 485 acres (196 hectares) of skiable terrain spreads across the opposing slopes of Mt. Mansfield and Spruce Peak.

Find 116 unique runs suitable for all levels of alpine skiing, snowboarding and telemarking, 90 percent of which is maintained by world-class snowmaking and grooming. The resort also has over 50 miles (80 kilometers) of trails for Nordic skiers in its cross-country center. Practice freestyling on the boxes, jumps, rails and ramps of the six terrain parks.

Join a dog-sled tour and relax as Siberian huskies lead you along trails through snow-covered woodlands. Learn about the mountain and its fauna and flora on a tour with a knowledgeable guide.

Reach the mountain and slopes easily on the 13 chairlifts and gondolas. In summer, the Gondola SkyRide provides wonderful views of Vermont’s forest-covered mountains. At the mountaintop you’ll have access to Mt. Mansfield’s hiking trails.

Rent a car and drive along the zigzagging Auto Toll Road to Mt. Mansfield’s summit ridge. View New York State’s Adirondack Mountains on clear days. For aerial thrills, try the zip lines, which send you traveling high above the forests. Alternatively, challenge the bridges, swings and rope ladders of the treetop obstacle course. Choose between a round of golf in the resort’s village or on the mountainside.

The lively resort village has numerous cottages, hotels and lodges. Enjoy delicious food at a bakery, coffeehouse, pub or steakhouse. Browse the stalls of the summer farmers market for artisanal food and curios. Watch ballets, concerts and standup comedy shows at the performing arts center.

The resort is about a 1-hour drive from Burlington International Airport. Use the free winter shuttle bus operating between the resort and the town of Stowe.
