"A lovely guest house, room was spacious and the hosts could not have been more welcoming. They spoke very good English. The breakfast was traditional german breakfast with the addition of muffins and croissants. A good selection with homemade jam as well! Unfortunately we stayed in 30 degree heat and so with no air conditioning, the room was very hot but nothing the hosts could do about this. "The hotel in the center of Strasbourg, close to the cathedral and the shopping area. Restaurants are close by and varied. The staff is so helpful and ready to assist you in every possible way. Jeniffer made us a reservation at the Maison Kammerzeli restaurant (the most famous place in Strasbourg). Again it’s close to the hotel. I highly recommend the hotel."

"Seems like a nice hotel with good spa facilities. We had a non smoking room, but it stank of cigarettes and the bathroom smelt unclean. The hotel staff didn’t speak any English (I no we were in Germany but basic pleasantries would have been nice) so don’t expect any help. Didn’t complain about the smell in the room as unable to make ourselves understood."

Cool hotel - comfortable rooms.

"The hotel design is incredible- I hadn't realised that the property had been a prison - unique and interesting and all decoration is to a high standard. Rooms are very comfortable. 1 downside- we arrived late after being delayed due to the most horrendous electrical storm and had called ahead to say we were going to be late and ask if the restaurant would still be open (or we would stop on the way). We were told that it would be open until 11. We eventually arrived at 10. We got food but the bar menu was essentially bruschetta or beef tartare. My colleague is gluten intolerant and asked if she could have a omelette but was told no. We asked for dessert at 10.50 and were told that the kitchen was closed. The staff were professional but there was no flexibility for very tired, hungry travellers who have to look to the hotel as a home from home when they are away. It was a bit of a shame. When you travel a lot what makes things easier and the difference from a good experience to a great experience is empathy."
