No trip to this area would be complete without a visit to William Shakespeare’s birthplace where you can learn more about the famous playwright. You can even take in one of his plays at the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre or visit Anne Hathaway’s Cottage. Take a boat trip on the River Avon, visit the butterfly farm, have a flutter on the horses at the racecourse or simply enjoy the many shops, tea rooms, restaurants, and cafés this fabulous town has to offer. Further afield, within easy reach, are Kenilworth and Warwick with their ancient castles, Leamington Spa’s Regency architecture, Birmingham, and the NEC. The beautiful Cotswolds begin 15 minutes’ drive away, with Chipping Campden and Moreton-in-Marsh both very accessible.
