The bedside lights weren’t working, we tried to call reception but found the phone was not connected. We went back to reception to report faults and was told we’d have to wait whilst they made up another twin bed room. Room was cold and limiter had been fitted to radiator. The heating was completely turned off overnight including bathroom towel heater. As the outside temperature dropped below zero overnight the room was unacceptably cold.

The only downside we had was our room was abit cold throughout our night stay, the radiator seemed to be on a timer for a short while, as it worked for a while then didn’t come back on so it felt rather chilly, our room was on the ground floor.

This is a lovely hotel, the room was very comfortable and clean with the expected amenities. Check in was a little confusing, especially after a long day of travel. No one man’s reception after 5pm(?) and we found ourselves wandering around looking for someone to help us, which wasn’t great. I was quite annoyed at the time by it due to being very tired from our journey. Breakfast was included, which was buffet style with plenty of choice and good quality.

I booked a Superior Double with a Golf View. Initially, we were allocated a room, but the toilet flush wasn’t working. After complaining to reception, they moved us to another room, but it had no view. The bed provided was simply two single beds pushed together, and the mattress was not comfortable at all. It was not worth the money I paid.

I have just returned from a one night stay at The Stratford Park Hotel & Golf Course in Stratford-upon-Avon. This time I booked via Expedia as they had a fabulous offer which I just couldn't turn down. What a fabulous location and lovely staff. I have mobility issues so they very kindly gave me a ground floor room and when I saw there was no bath, I was delighted. My bathroom was a wet room so accessibility to the fabulous shower was a real treat. I sat outside in the sunshine, I had a fabulous hot coffee and just switched off over looking the golf course, the lake and just felt so relaxed in the peace & quiet, something I was desperate for. Stunning views. Great food. Comfy beds. Lovely bar area. Fabulous shower. If I am honest, unless you have a function there, this hotel almost feels like an adults retreat. Somewhere to go when you want a round of golf or to just chill. I loved it and if I am able, I will return every time I need to get away from it all. Just what the doctor ordered.

Unfortunately I wasn’t very happy at all with this hotel! I arrived at 4pm and was told she wasn’t sure if my room was ready then went onto tell me I’ve got loads of people staying for so many nights!! Like I needed to know this then she had to go off to check if my room was ready she then came back and told me oh yes yours was the last room to be cleaned! I went to get a coffee in the bar and was asked if I was a golf club member replied no so it seems I had to pay more for my drink! It was a hot day but with a cold wind and as the day drew in it was a very cold evening. The whole building wasn’t very warm but my bedroom felt really cold. In the end I was uncomfortable so went to the bar and asked if there was any heating for my room. I was told they would deal with it but it would take a few minutes which is fair enough but then he came to my room with an air conditioning unit that only blew out cold air so I ended up sleeping in my tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt. I went for breakfast the next morning and paid £21.95 which I feel was a lot. There wasn’t a great choice for the money compared to some hotels I’ve stayed in and the cooked breakfast I had was lukewarm and not that nice at all. Also the lady in the door followed me and made me pay before if even got a cup of tea! So overall I wasn’t happy with my stay, wouldn’t stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel. I spent the next two nights at Stratford manor paying the same rate and it was excellent.

The hotel lobby could do with something as I feel it lets the rest of the hotel down. The restaurant and room we had was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. We did not eat at the hotel mainly because we were eating in town and meeting friends but would try it another time. The only thing which reduced our rating is that I’d searched high and low for a hotel with twin beds, only to find on querying the kingsized bed we had been give that the ‘instruction from the third party ‘ (ie Expedia) ‘was for a kingsized bed’. Luckily I was staying with my sister so it wasn’t a problem. We’ve had this issue before. It’s a shame Expedia seem to be deciding what type of bed we want!! I suppose I will have to ring ahead next time. A shame as there’s enough to think about when travelling. This will be another thing to do.

Lovely hotel could not fault room 106 it was amazing, only sore point was we were a party of 8 and in the dining room 5 of us were served meals but the other 3 had to wait 20 minutes for theirs, which by this time the others had nearly finished, then when we asked for dessert menu we were told it was to late but our party had finished eating for nearly an hour with no table service, thankfully the manager was very apologetic and served us desserts. I know it sounds like a grump but other than this 1 issue it was a fantastic stay and breakfast was amazing
