Strathmore is a pioneering arts complex comprised of the innovative Music Center at Strathmore and the gorgeous colonial-revival Mansion at Strathmore. The complex is North Bethesda’s premier venue for touring productions, musical performances and art exhibitions. Investigate the fantastic performance venue and educational facilities at the Music Center at Strathmore. Take a seat at an intimate performance at the mansion, which dates back to 1899. Visual art exhibitions regularly show at the mansion’s spacious galleries and are accompanied by talks and workshops.

Take advantage of the excellent arts programming at Strathmore and look up what’s showing during your visit. The Music Center at Strathmore collaborates with several resident artistic partner organizations, which present world-class performances by international and local musicians. Book a ticket for a recital by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the Washington Performing Arts Society or the CityDance Ensemble within the halls of this elegantly designed building.

Visit the Mansion at Strathmore to admire the stately architecture of the neo-Georgian building. The mansion was once the home of Captain James Frederick Oyster. It now hosts intimate concerts and art exhibitions. Climb the grand staircase and peruse the mansion’s Gudelsky Gallery Suite. See a performance in the superb performance hall and explore the sprawling estate to find a Sculpture Garden. Go on a historical tour of the mansion to learn about its former owners and legacy as a cultural institution.

Stop by the Strathmore Tea Room for refreshments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and some Saturdays. At the Music Center at Strathmore, go to the Prelude Café for lunch and pre-concert snacks. Purchase souvenirs and gifts from the Shop at Strathmore, which is located in the mansion.

Strathmore is located in North Bethesda and is easily accessible by car and metro. The nearest metro station is Grosvenor-Strathmore, a short walk away. Parking is available for a fee at the nearby parking garage or on-site at the mansion. Be sure to call ahead or check online to book tickets and make reservations for performances and classes. Visit on Wednesdays in July and August to enjoy free summer concerts on Strathmore’s lawn.
