What do you think of when you dream of a Maine Vacation.... a cabin on a lake in the woods, super private where you can make memories with your family, watch your dog swimming in the lake- teach your kids how to kayak and fish- have a nice glass of wine on the deck- Lincoln Cabin is gonna check all your boxes!! Directly on Tunk Lake, It is the beauty of the setting that is most captivating. Year after year families choose Lincoln Cabin because it is such a quiet spot, where you can really unplug and unwind. We are not known for great cell reception or motorized water sports (motorized boats are prohibited) or our close proximity to shopping and lots of people**** we are 45-60 minutes from Bar Harbor. We are known for being one of the last quiet gems- on a pristine lake in Maine, where you can listen to nature and truly relax.

Guests have two full, bathrooms, a fresh and modern kitchen, and great dining room furniture! Our kitchen is outfitted with new appliances, beautiful dinnerware and cutlery. Our living area is spacious with a vaulted ceiling which opens on to a deck overlooking Tunk Lake. The cabin is at the end of a private road leading down to a small beach with a dock jutting onto the lake and a swim float. The cabin comes supplied with a canoe and two kayaks. There are many hiking trails nearby, up Schoodic Mountain and also Black Mountain, where you can climb to a pristine glacier pond, aptly named Wizard Pond. You are across from Winter Harbor where there is a ferry to Bar Harbor, and a section of Acadia National Park, or you can make the 45-60 minute drive to Bar Harbor. We have a great little store in Sullivan named Dunbar's, you must check it out or a 30 minute drive takes you to Ellsworth, where there are some wonderful food stores ( John Edwards, Rooster Brother, Hannaford) to name a few!

The property is right on the water. Swimming, kayaking and trails galore. We came to celebrate fall and the foliage was beautiful. There were plenty of small towns nearby for shopping and souvenir hunting. On the last day, we went whale watching. The cabin is beautiful and very well maintained. The grounds pristine.

It was the perfect location on this beautiful lake with canoes and kayaks. Hiking to two awesome mountain peaks was only ten minutes away. Quiet and peaceful.

Had a wonderful time with my family at Lincoln Cabin. Spent most of our time on the water kayaking, swimming and lounging on our float. Grandkids loved fishing off the dock. The cabin was more than expected...will definitely visit again. Thank you Shasta and neighbors!

What a wonderful property! Despite driving by a few houses on the way to the property, you feel as though you are entirely alone with a lake all to yourself. The house itself is beautiful as well, with an up-to-date kitchen and stylish and comfortable furnishings throughout. We would absolutely love to stay there again!

We had an outstanding time at Lincoln Cabin! We instantly settled in and enjoyed fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, cooking, campfires and just hanging out as a family. The hour trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park is also so worth it as well and offers so many fun activities. We will be back!

This is a lovely, relaxing, dog-friendly house on a quiet lake nearby the Acadia National Park. The house has been recently renovated, with modern furniture and a well equipped kitchen. About a 30 minute drive to the Schoodic Woods and about an hour to Bar Harbor. Lots of great lobster shacks nearby—we love the co-op in Winter Harbor, ME most. We are already planning the next year’s trip!

Despite the rain and chilly weather we made our trip enjoyable. Shasta is a great host and the cabin is lovely. Directions were great and everything we did was within 30-90 minutes away. Take your rain gear, hat and gloves just in case in early June. We look forward to doing again with better weather! Montgomery kids

The Lincoln Cabin is the perfect place to retreat to when you are looking for peace and the beauty of nature. The lake welcomed us each morning for long swims and the sound of loons was the only thing we heard. It’s is a gem of a hideaway and a perfect place to recharge and spend time with family. The cabin has all the amenities you could want and we can’t wait to return another summer. We loved using the kayak and canoe and ending the day gathering around the fire pit. Overall the cabin is lovely ... rooms are spacious and the amenities are just what you need. Our only comment would be that the cabin is remote (at least an hour without traffic to Acadia) and the surrounding area is not particularly pleasant (lots of derelict houses). If you are looking for a cabin away from it all (zero cell service and somewhat slow wifi) on a gorgeous lake in north Maine this is your place.

Our family was long overdue for a truly relaxing vacation and this place did not disappoint!! Some of my family likes to truly do nothing on vacation - so sitting on the back porch just taking in the peacefulness of the lake was ideal. Others enjoy being active, so being able to drop the kayaks in the lake and explore was wonderful. My younger kids really enjoyed hanging out on the dock and catching fish in a net. We rented this place to spend time in Acadia National Park, but this house and lake were so awesome we only spent a day in Acadia. There are plenty of things to do within an hour drive, but we were so content at this lake house, it didn't matter. My only regret was not renting it for longer - I was absolutely not ready to go when it was time!

Host was wonderful to work with and responded quickly to questions. Cabin was amazing! Stocked with all amenities needed for your stay. Tunk Lake is so beautiful! A must go to if you enjoy quiet secluded area. We spent a bunch of time in Bar Harbor. 40 minute drive that felt like 10 the scenery is just beautiful. Our puppers Goofy was living his best life! Best property I have ever stayed in with VRBO or Air bnb. It is very well appointed and updated. Th things you can’t see online are usually how high the quality of the appliances and kitchen utensils are. Also what an amazing location...the lake is absolutely stunning, quiet and basically yours. A bit of a drive to downtown bar harbor but it is more than worth it. Rent a car and truly enjoy the country. Simply book this place for an unforgettable experience. Property mgmt was very responsive to any issues also!

The cabin and stay were awesome. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone wishing to get away from it all. Very quiet and a great view of the lake with kayaks and a canoe to use. The Cabin was clean and large, plenty of room. With in driving distance to Bar Harbor and Acadia, 45 to 60 minutes depending on traffic. Nice hiking trail on Black Mountain vary close by within 5 to 10 minutes drive. Shasta was very easy to deal with. Great communication!! I would highly recommend and will definitely stay there in the future.

This is the best property we have stayed at. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, that is incredibly clean, is full of amenities for the lake and 💯 accurate…this is your place. Shasta was an amazing and thorough communicator every step of the way - even after we arrived just to reach out and make sure everything was okay. The photos are an exact match for where you will be staying and I’ve stayed at a lot ‘clean’ places but her property truly is. The lake was so much fun and the kids (20, 19, 14 and 12) all had fun. We felt like we had the entire lake to ourselves. It was easy to get to Bar Harbor (fun but crowded) and we actually preferred Schoodic, Corea and the smaller towns around us. I can’t say enough good things. So if you’re thinking about it - do it. You won’t be disappointed!
