Sveta Katarina Holidays

This hotel was convenient to Old Town, about a 12-minute walk. The rooms were nice but small. Breakfast was very good. Staff was pleasant and helpful. It is tucked into a series of older appartment buildings and difficult to find. But it feels like an oasis once you arrive.

Beautiful, comfortable little apartment! Very clean and close to everything you want to do. Host was very helpful on checkin, good communications etc.

Very lovely room; tastefully decorated. A bit small. View not as great as pictures. A bit hard to find in old city. And you have to walk up 4 flights of stairs. But good price, quiet nice room

Air conditioner did not do much. Never cooled down in our room. You couldn't set the temperature but only the fan speed. Not what you would expect from a 5 star rated property. The shower was a tub wth a half window.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for 5 nights and easily could have done another 5. The bedroom was wonderfully kept and I enjoyed every minute in and by the pool, on the nearby Borik beach and swimming in the sea. Somehow they got wind that it was my birthday the day before we left, and left a card and present in the bedroom. I used the little bit of Croatian I'd learned and hotel staff were encouraging and positive about this, though they were excellent in English, and I assume in German and Italian too. The old city is excellent for restaurants, interesting old churches, and the archeology museum. But if you're not driving your only option is to book taxis as there is not much public transport to speak of. I don't hold it against the hotel of course but a bus service would really make a difference. I was very impressed by the buffet dining, and great coffee and other drinks available from the Tramontana bar (a wider selection of beers would be nice though - maybe Karlovačko crno?). Unfortunately my girlfriend had food-poisoning, she thinks from a bad mussel in the hotel restaurant, so be careful with those. One of the reception staff instructed us on where to find the nearest pharmacy, who were very helpful. On the whole we'd definitely consider staying again and were sad to say 'zbogom'.
