We returned to The View after staying last year as it has such wonderful views and is near eady transport into the city. The food for dinner and breakfast is always excellent and it has a lovely dining and bar area. We did think though that the hotel could do with some refreshing in some area, we stayed on level 9 this year and the corridor was looking very grubby....definitely in need of painting and new carpets. The staff were a friendly and should we return to Sydney this hotel would be our place of choice. NB There is some noise from the railway line which runs underneath the hotel....this does not go on all night but you can hear the trains passing underneath....request a higher floor were the noise isn't as noticeable.

The view from the window is spectacular. The room was a little noisy from the night road works below. No double glazing in our room but have stayed before on another level and that did have it. Happy hour at the Wilde bar, great value and cosy atmosphere. Breakfast has everything you could want and had a gluten free section. Transport is just meters from the hotel and the ferry service is a lovely walk along the foreshore. Stayed here many times over the years and keep returning. The overall presentation, cleanliness and friendly staff makes this an excellent place to stay.

The shower drain was clogged. I told the staff, I was offered a change of room but I was already settled in. The staff told me maintenance is avail 0900 the next day. So I said they can fix the shower while I’m gone on my tour. I came back later & the shower was still not fixed. One of the staff members came and fixed it himself.

Good location but right next to train station and is old building. Also I stay at lower floor, can heard the sound clearly. Except the noise, everything is perfect. Valuable per friendly hotel :)

We arrived at 7am and we were given a room to shower and freshen up after a 23hr flight…very welcome! Exceptional views, great food and the staff were very attentive and friendly cannot fault. Would certainly recommend and would definitely stay there again without question.

Good location, difficult access after 7 evening. Beds very good, didn't eat breakfast so no comment. Wish you could get a simple breakfast do nut plus coffee, don't really want $26 dollar breakfast
