Sydney Tower Eye

Australia’s tallest observation tower offers incredible views, and is the perfect way to become familiar with Sydney’s layout.

Take the 40-second elevator ride to Sydney Tower’s observation decks and restaurants, more than 1,000 feet (300 meters) above street level in the center of Sydney. Opened in the 1980s, the tower has become a firm favorite with locals and visitors. It’s a much-loved part of the Sydney skyline. The tower is divided into four sections. The main observation deck, known as the Sydney Tower Eye, is on the top level. Fully enclosed and surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass, the deck offers 360-degree views of Sydney and beyond. From here, see all the way to the Blue Mountains and up and down the coastline. Multilingual touch screens, high-powered binoculars and a 4-D cinema experience will get you familiar with Sydney in no time. Navigate the city with ease once you return to ground level. For an unforgettable Sydney dining experience, head to the bars and restaurants on the lower three levels. The 360 Bar and Dining rotates as you eat, while Sydney Tower Buffet is perfect for families. For fine dining and cocktails, head to Sky Venue located on level three. Get the ultimate scenic high on a Skywalk. During this experience, you’ll don a special jumpsuit, strap on a safety harness, and step out onto the glass-floored viewing platforms that are more than twice the height of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Throughout the 45-minute walk an experienced guide will show you the city landmarks. Cameras and mobile phones are prohibited for safety reasons however, professional photographs are available. Sydney Tower is centrally located on Market Street, one of Sydney’s busiest downtown streets. Public transport is the easiest option to reach the tower, which is open daily. The observation deck is closed on Christmas Day.

Pre-book your ticket a day beforehand or buy several passes to receive a discount. Also, if you want to see the night sky expect a long wait.

Views are stunning, but the food leaves something to be desired. Very disjointed selection at the buffet.
