This was such a bummer. We took a chance despite the middling reviews because we love historic hotels, but the reviews were right. I would not recommend the King mansion rooms. The building is not being properly maintained and is kind of sad. The room is shoddily "restored " and furnished, and the bathroom is straight up gross. So many questions: The room is enormous so why is the bed not a king? Why are there no rugs beside the bed? Why is all the furniture the cheapest sub-Ikea quality? Why are all the lightbulbs daylight so that it feels like a weird hospital not a cozy historic hotel? It's clear that every corner is cut here and the image of the historic building is used without much care for the actual building. Second floor mansion rooms do hear the restaurant music through the floor until 10 pm then it quiets down. Positives: The balcony is huge and the view is lovely. The room was clean, so it's not a staff issue. The restaurant downstairs was gorgeous and very tasty, if expensive.

We visited this hotel to check out Sleepy Hollow last month, but loved it so much, we already came back weeks later! We slept 10 hours! What a retreat! There’s 2 restaurants on site. We stayed in 2 different parts of the hotel & each of them were great. The staff was amazing & so helpful. We enjoyed the fitness center, the pool, the sauna, the breakfast buffet, and racquetball. What a nice escape from the hustle and bustle with gorgeous views in the fall. The property is a bit dated but an awesome value. Will be back for sure. Highly recommend. Did I mention how great the staff was? :-)

A secluded retreat just 45 minutes from NYC by commuter rail. Staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious with modern amenities lending itself to remote work with WiFi access. Elegant dining in the King Mansion felt indulgent and luxurious while conveniently situated within the property. Breakfast in Biddle Mansion was sumptuous and delicious in a spacious and well appointed castle!! Meals may be added on to the hotel tab and included in your bill at checkout - no cash required. A full course dinner with drinks averages $100/per person but week worth it and not much more than what you would spend at a lesser quality, crowded restaurant in the city with no parking!!! Make reservations early for the Goosefeather Restaurant and save your big spending for dining on the Estate! You will not regret you did!

Our room was clean and quiet, but there were no glasses (only plastic cups), no bottles of water, only two rough bath towels and institutional quality paper products. Parking was impossible, with hotel guests competing with wedding parties and other events for an insufficient number of spots. The once grand buildings and grounds showed signs of wear and tear and needed attention. The addition of a $40 resort fee brought the total for two nights to nearly $600, which should have easily covered the cost of the aforementioned shortcomings. We expected better.

This hotel was incredibly noisy - guests were slamming doors until 2am, without any interference from staff. There was a cigarette butt in our room. There were also NO parking spots when we got back at 9:30pm. We asked what to do and were told we could pay for valet ($20 extra) we then searched again for a spot and found one and the same area where the valet attendant had just parked. They conveniently didn’t share that there were more spots available, they just let us go find them. Also - the hotel is advertised as “pet friendly” but you cannot indicate while making your booking that you will be bringing a pet. So be prepared to be hit with an additional $100 when you check in. And I would describe it as “pet tolerant” as you are not actually allowed to leave your pet in the hotel room alone for any amount of time, even just to go to dinner. Overall NOT worth the high cost. Won’t be coming back
