Main Description
The Old Malthouse sits in the heart of the village, within a few moments walk of the highly rated Notley Arms public house which serves freshly prepared and locally sourced foods, along with a selection of Somerset’s finest ales, beers and ciders. There are a number of designated footpaths close to the property including the famous Coleridge Way. In 1583 Sir Francis Drake was married in the village church which is now a Grade 1 listed building.

On record as early as 1737 as a working malt house supplying malt to the local area, the property is full of character whilst benefiting from recent refurbishment. The focal point of the sitting room must be the inglenook fireplace and log burner for extra warmth after a busy day exploring. In warmer weather, guests can spend their evenings outside in the private courtyard garden or on the small lawn adjacent to the private gravelled parking area across the quiet road. There are three bedrooms, two double (with built-in wardrobes) and one single, ensuring that the cottage sleeps up to 5 guests in comfort. The bathroom upstairs has a bath, powerful “rainfall” shower, toilet, hand basin, large heated towel rail and illuminated mirror.

Private off-road parking is available for two vehicles on the gravelled area opposite the side entrance to the property (across the quiet single-track road).

The Old Malthouse is strictly non-smoking.

Local amenities
The centre of Williton is a 3 mile drive from Old Malthouse. As well as hosting the Bakelite Museum and one of the stations on the West Somerset Steam Railway, this small town also boasts a cafe, two supermarkets, a number of public houses, a library, hairdressers, fish and chip shop, pizzeria, petrol station and Post Office amongst other businesses.
Minehead is the main town in West Somerset, and sits around 10 miles from the Old Malthouse. Here you will find the larger supermarkets and petrol stations (Tesco and Morrisons are both on the outskirts of the town), most major high street banks with cash machines, plus a range of other shops.

Arrival and departure
The Old Malthouse is available for week-long bookings and short breaks. The cottage will be ready from 4 pm on the day you arrive. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.

Indoor Description
The kitchen/dining room is fitted with a halogen hob, electric oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, microwave, kettle, and toaster. There is a full complement of saucepans, kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses.
In the sitting-room guests can enjoy a 32” LED TV with built in DVD and Freeview channels. Wireless broadband is available throughout the cottage.
A high chair can be made available, please request this at time of booking.
There is ample space in the main bedroom for guests to put up a travel cot if required (cot is not provided).
There is no stair gate in place at this property and the stairs are characteristically uneven, we suggest that if a child is unable to hold on to banister then The Old Malthouse would not be suitable for them - sorry.

Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Old Malthouse has electric storage heating, with individually adjustable radiators. There is also a log burner in the sitting room and a complimentary supply of logs, kindling and firelighters to get you started. Further logs can be purchased locally if required.

Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided, but please bring your own beach towels if you require them for day trips.

You will find tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper, toilet rolls, kitchen paper and cleaning materials in the cottage. Also a bottle of wine to prove your holiday has begun.

Outdoor Description
There is a lawned garden opposite the cottage (across a small quiet road), the garden is not enclosed.

Had a great Christmas, the cottage was lovely, clean and very well equipped with everything you needed. The location was ideal as my husband had just came out of hospital, and the local Notley arms pub/restaurant was 2 minutes walk away, such a lovely little village. Will definitely be rebooking, as will our daughters family who was also with us. So close to lots of attractions.
