The spacious 3 bedrooms include 2 queens and 2 singles. In bedroom 3 you will also find your own private access to the deck where you can sit peacefully among the private garden. The gorgeous high beam ceiling in the living area makes for a bright, airy and inviting space. During the winter season enjoy the cosy set up by the fire, and during the warmer months dine outdoors on the sundeck.

Stay local and walk along the lake's edge and take in the serene setting or drive into Taupo Central, just 10 minutes away. For more sights, Huka Falls is 16 minutes away from your home. For the adrenaline junkies, there is no need to travel far - Taupo Bungy located right outside Taupo central along the Waikato river.

Head to the Whakapapa Ski Fields for a snow filled day out with your group, just an hour away. Or if you're after a bit of sightseeing, the famous Orakei Korako Geothermal Park is just 1 hour north of the house.

Disrepair and Deterioration- not as expected
Our 4 night stay here was short-lived and reduced to only one night based on the condition of the property at time of arrival. In short, the property had numerous cleanliness/safety/maintenance issues that left our family (traveling internationally with a small child) feeling unsafe and prompted an urgent booking for alternative arrangements throughout the duration of our stay in Taupo. Here were our concerns and items we experienced: • The only entrance to the property is via the backyard, and there was no functional lighting to that access. • The locking system throughout the entire property is extremely poor/faulty. Access through the front portions of the home don’t allow any keyed entry and are locked inside the property through a sliding latch. These locks either had screws falling out of the fixed portion, or there were significant gaps in the doors; both issues essentially rendering the locks useless for security and safety. • Upon entering the premises, the handle came completely off while closing the door. • Inside the premises, we noted flooring that was incomplete, holes in doors, and a mattress propped up against a wall. • There were large amounts of flying insects and biting ants on the ceiling of the bathroom, and a dead cockroach under the table in the family room. • The outside of the property was equally concerning with beer bottles caps in the grass, bushes lining the driveway that are brown and dead, and absolutely no “views” of the Lake as published. The property description originally had two “views” photos showing lake and mountain views (these have subsequently been removed from the listing). The property is consumed by vegetation and no “views” exist anywhere on the property. The property manager noted they would send out someone to fix the lighting and lock issues the following morning, however, the condition of the property upon check-in demonstrated that the remedies were much deeper than simply fixes and would take the bulk of our time there to resolve(ie installation of new hardware for locks, additional electrical lines and lights being ran, and a further cleaning of the property). We felt extremely disappointed in how the property was prepared for our arrival with so many issues left unmaintained or repaired; and in turn felt an alternative housing arrangement was immediately needed for safety, security, and comfort while in Taupo. Requests for an amicable refund(less than half) of fees has been unsuccessful.
