The Wonderland, mini-golf and high-wire zip lines create a family playground in this vast park. Everyone can enjoy the nature trails and historical relics.

Telford Town Park is a large expanse of gardens, trails and activities adorning the southern half of its namesake town. Make use of the myriad features and facilities that range from mini-golf and aerial rope courses to fishing pools and manicured gardens. The park is also renowned for its Wonderland attraction, a woodland fairytale realm complete with mazes, games and rides.

Let your kids loose in one of the five play areas scattered across this fun set of grounds. The most daring young ones will enjoy the wild rides in the dark chutes of the Rocket Slide, while the sand pit serves as a refuge for toddlers.

One feature that makes Telford Town Park exceptional is the woodland Aerial Ropes Course. Take photos of your children tackling the high ropes against a scenic, verdant backdrop. Bring the little ones to the Winter Wonderland Christmas Village during the festive holiday season.

Archaeological artifacts, industrial vestiges and railway relics embellish the labyrinth of heritage trails extending through the forest. Stumble upon the disused 19th-century Stirchley Forge & Rolling Mills and the 18th-century Shropshire Canal. Gaze up at the 209-foot (64-meter) chimney of an ironworks from the 1700s and spot the ruins of the old Stirchley Station.

Complementing these historical gems are stunning natural features and landscapes. Look for frogs near the Withy Pool and skylarks and greenfinches above the Heathlands.

Get an idea of the full range of activities available in the park at the visitor center. Gather your family here for a break at the visitor center café, which serves snacks and hot beverages.

The park is open at all times. The visitor center’s hours are from morning until early afternoon. It is closed on Mondays and Fridays in winter.

From the center of Telford, walk south for 10 minutes to reach Telford Town Park. The park occupies a large swath of land between the districts of Nedge Hill and Dawley. Nearby attractions include the International Centre, the Telford Ice Rink and the Telford Shopping Centre.
