Suspect it’s better in summer
Nice enough and we were well looked after. Our room was rough around the edges, with a view over a site yard which had trucks running their engine below and smoke blowing in. Hotel was very quiet so service was minimal but good when accessible. No access to any of the grander rooms with views over the gardens.
Beautiful hotel within a country house in the forest. Fantastic location. Wonderful walking trails from the hotel. Courtyard was the set for Allo Allo! We had a wonderful time, nice large room. Lots of space for our toddler to run around. Friendly and attentive staff.
Lovely hotel, super, friendly service. From the point of view of a real 'Allo 'Allo fan brought back fond memories of a great comedy series. Lovely food too. Enjoyed walking through the forest on a beautiful warm evening.

Excellent service from staff, friendly and efficient, very good food, cleanliness could have been better old cobwebs along edges of ceiling/wall. Window would not stay open, noisy pipes from radiator at times due to old building, extractor fan in shower room did not work.
The stay was comfy and relaxed. The staff / reception was friendly helpful and warm. Due to covid restrictions the room arrive was spot on and food is excellent all round. Definitely worth a stay - be better without covid - but I was really happy with how they dealt with the current situation.

The building is a faded Victorian stately home although efforts are being made to restore it. My (cheap) room was in the stables. These rooms are pretty basic and the heating went off in the evening, leaving the room too chilly.
On the plus side, the bed is very comfortable, the food good and the service was very good.
We had n absolutely fabulous weekend stay, the staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was top notch. had a nice walk around the grounds and into Mundford for a pub lunch which was very nice.
Would deffinatly stay again
Excellent reception staff who man the bar and bar snacks womanfully! Attentive, observant with excellent customer service. The hotel was in good decorative order but the grounds were verging on the neglected which surprised us. The courtyard was fun with the " Allo , Allo"connection but our room was a little cramped with a smaller bed than we are used to. But for value ? Outstanding
THE PROPERTY WAS VERY GOOD ATHOUGH IT SEEMS TO HAVE A FEW ROOF LEAKS IN THE MAIN BUILDING.
A GOOD PLACE TO STAY, STAFF FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL WITH A CAN DO ATTITUDE
Check your bill carefully before paying the hotel management seeks to undermine one favourable impression by some regrettable creative accountancy practices.
We were not in the main hotel, due I suspect to having paid a discounted rate through Hotels.com! This proves to be noisy as we had a lot of noise from the room/s above us, suspect no sound proofing done when they were converted to rooms from possible stables? Lot of mould in the grouting in the shower area of the bath and the shower head was brown from limescale - I think and hope!
Bed was very hard but could have coped with that if the pillows had been more comfortable, had a very restless night and suffered neck, shoulder and headache on the Saturday morning,
Breakfast was lovely and service in restaurant was very good.
Lynford Hall is set in nice surrounding and close to the lovely village of Munford. The Hall and Grounds have seen grander days and would benefit from some TLC to return it to its former glory.
Our room was situated in the former stable block, it was clean, well sized with large onsuite but could benefit from some updating.
The staff were all very friendly, approachable and helpful.
Plenty of choice at Breakfast which included pastries, cereal and cooked breakfast.
We stayed Thursday evening so got a very good deal.
My husband and I do intend to return and my pay more for our room/hotel if it was given some. TLC!
This hotel could be amazing, unfortunately it needs investment.
Upon arrival the facade looks impressive and certainly makes the right impression. This impression quickly changed when I reached my room, it appears that there is very little (if anything spent on upkeep). There was a big stain on the bedroom carpet. In the bathroom the towel rail was missing with just holes in the wall where it should have been, the same goes for a shelf in the bathroom. The bedside tables both had large crudely cut holes in the top that had obviously previously been used for lamps that had since been removed.
At breakfast, I had to chase down someone to get some coffee and generally it seemed like us being there was an inconvenience to the dining room staff.
Overall the hotel was clean and acceptable for a night, but very tired and falls well below the standards I expected from such an establishment. I’d like to think I was just unlucky, but the couple checking out in front of me in the queue had similar complaints....

This was a most beautiful country house and is in a good location for Thetford Forest and surrounding countryside.
Sadly its all looking very tired now and, whilst the staff are lovely the grounds and surrounding area are fantastic, we just couldn't help to feel a little sad that a proud heritage now seemed to lack pride and belief in itself.
The once beautiful gardens now look like the local authority maintains them. The room ( in the courtyard) was comfortable and clean enough but the bathroom had mould and a broken toilet and there seemed to be a number of flies which we just couldn't get rid of.
Towels and complimentary tea and coffee facilities in room were good.
Breakfast was reasonable and served in a nice old dining room.
We were disappointed with the choice of meals in the restaurant. It was a very limited menu and the bar/restaurant was very formal and lacked atmosphere. We used a pub in the village instead.
All in all it was a bit underwhelming, but , at the price we paid, better than a Travel Lodge …..although Travel Lodges tend not to have mouldy bathrooms.

On balance a good stay
First impression from the outside and also public areas was of high quality. Lady at reception explained that they had their own well for water supply so sometimes it looked cloudy when taps turned on but offered bottled water as alternative. Internet connection is bad in the area, not just the hotel. The actual room we stayed in had very thin walls so could hear TV and guests in the room next door. Room furnishings were tired and have seen better at budget places such as Travelodge. Staff polite and did their jobs but seemed to lack enthusiasm considering the hotel appears to promote high standards.. On a more positive note got a good rate for the room and the breakfast was excellent quality and variety. Overall, would stay again at the price and for the breakfast provided.
