It was just the right distance for us to explore the forts and bunkers around Verdun. The gite itself, had everything we needed including a wood burning fire. Annie was lovely and made us a quiche, which was the best I have eaten. If we go back to this region again, we will defiantly be booking Chez Mathilde again."

"We hebben een fantastische week gehad met onze kinderen en kleinkind. We kregen bericht dat we iets in het huis konden en werden gastvrij ontvangen. Het is een prachtig en groot huis met veel ruimte binnen en een grote en volledig omheinde tuin met veel privacy in een rustige omgeving. It is well maintained though, and we found it comfortable. There are 4 separate double bedrooms and 1 more large attic space that can sleep 6 more. "We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely family home, there was plenty of space and lots of outdoor activities. We really liked the pool however it isn’t fenced which would have been good to know in advance. There is a local vineyard, restaurant and a supermarket nearby. We would definitely recommend this large house to other groups wanting a quiet getaway. The hosts were extremely helpful and offered to help with anything we needed."

"The gite was very well equipped and comfortable. Probably one of the best we have stayed in over many years. The surrounding countryside is variable, with flat plains , hills and lakes. If you are interested in Ww1 the preserved trenches in the area are the best I have seen. Verdun and Nancy, which are a short drive away, are both historical and picturesque."

Well worth a visit when in the Meuse

"We chose this hotel because it had high ratings and it fully deserved them ! Everything was perfect and it is one of the most comfortable stays we have ever experienced. Lots of space in the room and the bathroom, perfect temperature, tastefully furnished, excellent breakfast and a host to whom nothing is too much trouble."

Charming farm house

"Wonderful farm house, bed was very comfortable and bathroom was modernized. Mrs Pateli was very welcoming, but hardly spoke any English. Check in in very late 6 pm Breakfast was in a beautiful old farm living room and offered bread products, juice, jam and yogurt. Would definitely stay here again"
