Located near Boone, this cozy, family-friendly cabin features a brand new wood stove and a front porch swing. While sitting on the porch, enjoy bird watching and listening to the river while soaking in the mountain views. Hygge inspired design perfect is for a relaxing getaway. The 3-acre property backs up to the 750 acre Elk Knob Game Land. Hiking, fishing, and outdoor activities abound within a 15 min drive from the property.

This vacation home has 2 bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher and microwave, and a bathroom with a shower and tub. Bed linens, towels, a pack n' play, a Deuter hiking backpack to carry a toddler, Bumbo seat with tray, and kids toys are provided. Home has high-speed WiFi and a Smart TV so you can watch all your favorite shows on rainy day! DVD player and DVDs, games, puzzles, and books are also provided. A boot dryer is located in the mud/laundry room to make sure you're ready for any outdoor adventures the following day!

Home sits on a state-maintained gravel road (Rich Mountain Rd). 4-wheel or all-wheel drive is recommended in the winter. Downtown Boone and App State campus is 15 minute away, Elk Knob State Park is a 5 minute drive, and the New River with kayak and rafting put-ins is a 15 minute drive. Ski slopes and snow tubing are approximately a 40 minute drive.

Great house in the countryside outside Boone.
The house is lovely and very relaxing. There's everything you need. The location is very peaceful but you can easily get into Boone. There was a slight misunderstanding at check in and the house wasn't cleaned but I couldn't have asked for more from the host. Sharon answered my messages straight away and rectified the issue/got the house cleaned very quickly. Thank you!

Awesome Mountain Cottage
The photos are very accurate - this place is cute, cozy, and clean, with great views. It's close to Boone and Blowing rock, yet quiet and isolated from the crowds and tourists. We had some really amazing views of the stars at night, and enjoyed sitting on the front porch with coffee and book in hand in the mornings. When I made the reservation, I was slightly worried about the gravel road, but it's only a short stretch and well maintained - my small Honda had no problems with it! We may make this an annual trip.

Affordable little place in the mountains
Loved the place. We have three little kids and it was perfect for them. It's about 15 minutes into town and within 30 minutes to an hour of numerous trails, waterfalls, parks, activities, Tweetsie, etc. Very quiet and secluded with a nice mountain view. Check in was easy and the price is very fair.

We had a great weekend trip using this house as our home base. Great location to Boone and Blowing Rock, easy to access/find with all of the essentials included. The house has definitely been renovated and updated and it looks great!

Overall we had a wonderful stay. Beautiful view, quiet, with comfortable beds! Two items could improve future stays. 1) The property was clean with the exception of: dusty countertop by the microwave, popcorn on the kitchen floor and and tortilla chips crumbs by the bunk beds. 2) We are seniors and we would recommend a bathmat and/or another hand rail in the tub as the tub floor was slightly slippery.

Beautiful, clean, and quiet cabin with gorgeous views and plenty of space. Only downside was the small tv because my boyfriend has one eye but we improvised and used our laptop to watch tv so it worked out. Other than that the stay was amazing and would love to stay there again in the future.

The perfect place for our family!
We spent Easter weekend in Boone and wanted to be close to good hiking and downtown Boone. This house was perfect for our family of 5. It was clean, well-stocked, and the television and WiFi worked great! This will be our go-to stay when we return to Boone.

The house was very nice and clean, had ample parking, and a little off the beaten path which was nice. Comfortable beds and furniture, and a nice dog next door! A warning of “no cell service” would’ve been nice, as I didn’t remember the door code when I got there and had to drive back into town to get cell service to look on the Vrbo app.

We absolutely loved this property. It is secluded from any hustle and bustle and so well decorated on the inside. It really felt like a home away from home while we were in town visiting family. January trip
A snowstorm was going on as we arrived and we were able to make it within 800ft of the driveway before our minivan could not make it any further. All wheel drive would have been great to have in this situation. As soon as I let Sharon know about this hiccup she responded promptly and had a plan in place to accommodate our stay. Her next door neighbor was one of the nicest people I have met. He saw we were having trouble and came outside, helped us carry all of our things and assisted with getting our kiddos inside. He even gave me a place to park our van so that it was out of the roadway. After we got settled in his wife made us a loaf of bread and brought us over a dozen eggs. This place was great to stay at and our kids had a great time. We enjoyed having a fire every night and the views at night were incredible. We would love to come back out here.
