"We stayed here for two nights, before and after our Tongariro Crossing trip. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Check in and communication was straightforward. The ear plugs left on the table came in handy as the property is located next to a fairly busy road and trucks transporting cars stop and do their driver change-over next to it. Also the carpet in the room could do with a refresh as it does not smell very nice."

"Cozy house with all the gadgets needed for a great stay with a group. We had 6 adults and 6 kids which we piled into one room with the bunk beds. 2 kids fitting on the bottom beds as they are bigger. The bunks could do with an oil as they were quite squeaky but other than that an overall good stay. Thanks!"

Only drawback is that there's only one bathroom for two couples. However, the toilet is in its own room - separate from the shower, but with a sink for hand-washing in each room. "This was our first ‘extended’ family trip. Eight of us in total, 4 adults and 4 kids (ages 2, 6, 9, 15). The house and outside area was fantastic and fit for purpose. There was plenty of room so we didn’t feel on top of each other. Fantastically stocked kitchen, has every utensil and pot you’d need. Enough beds/bedrooms and bathrooms. Lovely big lounge area and the outside was a dream! Enjoyed the walk to the stream and the swing seat and see-saw kept the younger kids entertained. Lovely and...

"The accommodation was as advertised. No unpleasant surprises. Wood fire kept the house cozy. We were there late autumn, it would have been a great addition to have a wall heater in the bathroom which was outside on the back porch. Otherwise I would recommend a stay for those who can tolerant Taranaki temperatures. The easy close walk to the Whangamomona Hotel was the icing on the cake."

"We loved the house; spaciousness and location were good, except there was no snow :( Communication with the owner was quick and easy. However, instructions for cleaning/leaving were not given so there was some confusion about what we needed to do. We had noticed that there were some areas that had not been cleaned for a while, then met the person who came to change the beds and apparently that is all she does? So - clearer instructions please, we would have cleaned if we'd known we had to."
