It is a beautiful hotel. The only reason thing is the surrounding area is maybe a little sketchy, mainly a gas station across the street that didn't feel the most safe but the hotel it's self had security in the evening and felt very safe. Nice pool, bigger pool towels than the tiny towels at most hotels. No free breakfast but nice dining and bar areas where you can purchase breakfast. Food was a bit pricey but I felt the rooms were definitely a great value. Nicer and cheaper than a lot of places I have stayed. Very convenient to walk to the event we were attending! Would definitely stay again!

This is such a beautiful hotel in a prime location. Whether it's a weekend lovers getaway or a busy business trip, Hotel Topeka has it all. Although on the more pricey end of things it's worth every penny in the end. To the friendly and helpful staff to the hardworking and thorough hospitality crew. I found what looked to be mold on our air vent in our room as I was packing up to leave. When I mentioned it to front desk staff when checking out they offered no sort of apology or discount for the inconvenience and health risk to my 10 month old daughter!

Overall, very pleased.
Everything about our stay was great! The hotel was packed for the weekend with many events, but it was still pretty quiet. The check-in staff was great and quickly took care of some issues with our third-party reservation. The only issue was at the breakfast when 2 out of the 3 days we ate there the coffee was allowed to run empty and people were waiting or left because it took a long time to brew another giant urn. The breakfast attendant wasn't as attentive to the job as I would have expected. Other things under their purview were also a bit neglected, such as the glasses available for juice weren't refilled when the stack was gone. Otherwise, we stay here frequently and have never been unhappy with our stay! Like the pool--wish there was a hot tub.

Tired hotel
Everyone who works at this hotel is friendly and very accommodating. The biggest issue is that the hotel is tired. Our room smelled like old smoke. Probably in the upholstery. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was fairly run down. And it’s not near much except for the events center.
