Cornish Cottage sea 100m four bedrooms Kingsand, homely & comfortable

Jackdaw Cottage note currently there is scaffolding erected at the rear of the property which may inconvenience guests, this is due to a roof leak. We apologise for any inconvenience and if guests wish to cancel they may do so. We trust the work is completed soon and normal arrangements resume. Some guests have stayed without disruption but this is a very personal choice for all guests.
Situated on the Rame Peninsula, Kingsand is a delightful unspoilt village with quiet beaches. The roomy 100 year old cottage has four bedrooms, two shower/bathrooms and sleeps 8 plus a baby and is only a short stroll to the beach (about 100 yds). The villages of Kingsand and Cawsand have four pubs, which are all very pleasant and serve good food. The village is on the Cornish Coastal Path and there are many lovely coastal walks. Late special deals are available, please contact the owner. The cottage is very comfortable & well equipped, but it in an old building and not a modern apartment which some guests may prefer.
Bedroom (Bed 1) – Large room with king-size double bed and cot, storage heater (please would guests bring their own linen for the cot, all other bedlinen is provided but not towels)
Dining Room – 7 foot dining table, seating 8 people, high chair, Park ray solid fuel boiler for central heating.
Guests are advised that at the height of the season and bank holidays there is normally a 7 night minimum stay, we hope you understand as this eliminates void rental periods at popular times.
Kitchen – fully fitted all facilities. 3 further bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, outside – there is a sunny courtyard.

Further Property Details: 1st Shower-room/toilet, heated towel rail but only when boiler is burning

2nd Shower-room/bathroom/toilet/immersion heater/warm air heater

Large Sitting Room – Television, DVD, 3 x three seater settees (one of which is a double sofa-bed for occasional use only), easy chair, and coffee table, open fire, radiator, storage heater

Double Bedroom (Bed 2) – King size double bed, sea views to the south and towards Penlee Point, radiator when boiler is on

Bedroom (Bed 3) – Two single beds, radiator when boiler is on

Bedroom (Bed 4) – Two Bunk-beds suitable for children, radiator when boiler is on, spare single mattress (occasional)

Large cottage suitable for large family or two families sharing

Directions & Places of Interest: The property is best accessed from the east by the Torpoint Car Ferry which operates on a 24 hour basis. The journey from Torpoint to Kingsand takes about 15-20 minutes, via Antony, (turn left to Cawsand). Then follow signs to Kingsand, on entering the outskirts of the village, from Jackman’s Meadow, turn left to Kings and down Fore Street. The property is on the left and is opposite the gift shop. There is a local shop, open from 7:30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.which sells virtually all needs for groceries whilst on holiday . A post office is about 75 yards away and the beach is 100 yards. There are four pubs, The Halfway House (75yds), The Rising Sun, The Devonport Inn and The Cross Keys as well as another bar on Cawasand beach, they are all within walking distance. There is also a bistro on the way to Cawsand. The beach is safe for swimming and is protected by Penlee Point. A short drive away is the Edgcumbe Arms at Cremyll.

Booking: Booking & Reservations. There is a 25% deposit required with each booking, the balance of the rental is due one month prior to your holiday and on receipt a key will be sent to you. There is also a returnable breakage deposit of £75.00. For convenience beds will be made up ready for guests when they arrive. Please make cheques payable to Mr A. Sartorius at the address below. Changeover day is Friday and guests are requested to always vacate at strictly 10.00am (unless otherwise agreed in writing, this is to allow for extra cleaning due to COVID-19) to allow cleaning and change of bed linen, you will appreciate it is very difficult for the cleaner to do the work efficiently if guests are still in residence. (We would request that guests remove linen from the beds used and put in black plastic bags ready for the cleaner and leave the property clean and tidy. We ask all kitchen utensils are put through the dishwasher too). Arrivals are from 4.00pm. Car parking is available at Napier Car Park and special weekly rates are available, should this be full, guests can off-load outside the cottage & park at the top of the village in Jackman’s Meadow. Out of season short breaks are also available.

Important
The owners draw guest's attention to the fact that rubbish collection is normally by Rame Refuse at the end of each stay, please double bag rubbish, no loose please. It should be left outside the front door, in the seagull proof sack of the house by 10 am latest on the day you leave. This is very important otherwise a mess will be made in the street if birds rip open the sacks. We ask that guests please empty all the room bins too, to avoid two collections by the bin men, all bottles, cans, paper etc should be separately packed for recycling. Your cooperation on this is important so as not to make an unpleasant job worse. Please would guests recycle all bottles if at all possible, failing that store separately in clear plastic bags. Unfortunately Cornwall Council have removed all local recycling facilities nearby. We are sorry but we do not take pets.

Lovely old cottage, loads of room, ideal for large family. The kitchen had the best range of utensils I have seen in a holiday let and we stay in quite a few. Lovely open fire in lounge which is very inviting in the winter. Very clean and excellent bedding and mattresses. Perfect position in Kingsands

Great property and location
The house is spacious comfortable and we'll equiped. The location was a lovely surprise, the photos don't do it justice. There are many beautiful walks straight from the property. Mt Edgecombe I'd about an hours walk and there's a foot ferry that leaves from Cawsand beach to Plymouth if you don't feel like driving. Really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely mid September stay in homely & comfortable house in tranquil Kingsand
We enjoyed the comfortable and relaxing feel of the house - felt like home straight away. Lovely walks on the coastal path and shoreline and visits to Antony Woodland Gardens and Mount Edgcumbe which are both highly recommended. The local pubs - all within a 5 minute walk are great and the food is excellent at The Half Way House and The Devonport Arms. Would definitely recommend Jackdaw Cottage to anyone wanting a quiet and relaxing holiday with beaches, coast path and good pubs and cafes on your doorstep.

Great location, with beaches and hostelries on the doorstep.
This property’s greatest asset is its location, right in the heart of the village of Kingsand, with several pretty beaches just a couple of minutes walk away. We stayed here with our offspring and young grandchildren, and found the cottage comfortable and well equipped. The beach at Cawsand is just a five minute walk away, great for spending most of the day building castle, rockpooling, sampling the excellent pasties and ice creams from the cafe. Also recommend walking or driving to The Canteen at Maker Heights for a delicious lunch or breakfast.

An enjoyable stay and well located within the village.
A great location and plenty of room in the cottage (we were a party of 5 and had a room each). There are 3 local pubs near by and the food/service was great. Parking in the local carpark was also convenient. The cottage could do with a little update but this would not put us off from staying again.

Jackdaw Delight
Our stay at Jackdaw Cottage in the quaint village of Kingsand was simply wonderful. The cottage could not be more centrally located, and the nearby car park was most convenient. We were very comfortable and all needs were met in terms of bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, living room, and back yard. We were a party of six adults, and there was plenty of room for all. Local eating establishments provided a nice variety of excellent fare, and the beauty of Kingsand, Cawsand, and the magnificent countryside was enough to guarantee we will return. We can only hope that Jackdaw Cottage will be available when we do!

Absolutely beautiful!
We stayed in kingsand for 2 weeks and absolutely loved the cottage. It was so nice to have enough space for all of us. It was very well equiped and Tony and Rachel were absolutely lovely. We especially enjoyed the coast walk to Mount Edgcumbe and the ferry ride to Plymouth from Cremyll. The village provides everything you need from Pubs to a small supermarket. We will definately come back in the future. Thank you for such a lovely stay! PS: rent a small car if possible, the streets are very narrow.

Delightful, comfortable house, clean and well-equipped.
Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful, unspoilt villages and well worth a visit. Well-placed for Looe, Polperro, Fowey, Eden Project etc but away from it all. Jackdaw Cottage is in a very convenient location and quite charming. Lovely courtyard for sunny breakfasts outside and evening meals too on warm days.

Character town house in a great location
Enjoyed our 2 week stay. The house was 50 yds from the very good local shop and the same to a number of pubs and on to the beach. Lovely sitting room. The house does need some love and attention though - particularly the uncomfortable beds. A decent sized freezer to cope with catering for 8 or 9 people is a must - and icebox doesn't cut it really.

Lovely seaside cottage
We had a wonderful brief stay at Jackdaw cottage. It's a very clean, simple but spacious cottage in a quaint seaside village. The beds were a bit hard but overall found it delightful. Its about an hour or so from the southern tip of Cornwall but we were able to see all of Cornwall just fine. Highly recommend this rental. Our car and phone GPS's had a difficult time finding the address (do not let it default to Torpoint) but the rental is picturesque and exactly what we were hoping it would be.
