Charming Boardman Riverfront Cabin 2 Bedroom 1 bath

Come rest, relax, and enjoy the sounds and sights of the Boardman River in our cozy, rustic 800 square foot cabin. Bedroom one has a queen size bed, while bedroom two offers a double bed and a twin bed. Cook meals in our efficient kitchen, or grill on the charcoal grill. Our large comfortable sofa beckons you to relax, read a book, watch birds at the feeder, or view kayakers as they paddle down the river. Free WiFi allows you to stream movies, or if you must, check emails or work remotely. Grab a book and hang in the hammock under the willow tree, and let the sound of the river gently lull you into a nap. Enjoy a cup of coffee or your favorite beverage on our deck overlooking the river. When evening comes, build a fire in the fire pit and make a few s'mores. If you're lucky, you may spot fireflies in late June or July. Deer, bunnies, birds, abound if you are quiet and observant.

When you are ready for activity, bring your own kayaks or tubes and go for a float. For a small fee, a neighbor will transport you and your vessels up or downstream. Traverse City offers many beautiful hiking trails and we are a 1/4 mile from the Boardman River Trail where you can and enjoy a hike along the river. We are eight miles from Downtown Traverse City where you can enjoy shopping, excellent restaurants, beaches, or wineries out the Old Mission Peninsula. Leelanau County is one of our favorite places to enjoy the beaches and go for hikes.

This cabin has been in our family for three generations and we have made many wonderful memories here over the years. While it is rustic, it is clean and updated with new mattresses, sheets, linens, towels, and a stove. We hope that you and your family or friends can relax, recharge, and make some special memories of your own. Parties, additional guests, and smoking and vaping is prohibited.

A must-stay rental!
This river house is full of charm. Amy was so thoughtful, leaving helpful notes and a few tasty treats for us to enjoy. This is the first rental we've been in where all the furniture was truly comfortable, including the beds. The location is excellent and close to many different experiences. Do not be alarmed by the train track, we trusted the other reviews and only saw one engine go by, no whistles or vibrations. The burbling river and the weeping willow tree were magic! The air conditioning was excellent, and there are plenty of fans. Fully equipped kitchen and charcoal grill kit! Overall a perfect spot.

Great long weekend
This cottage was very cute. Right next to the beautiful River. The house was clean and comfortable. Great location to Traverse City and the softball tournament that we were participating in. Everything was just how it looked in the pictures. We would love to come back!

Relaxing hidden gem
The cabin was such a great place to stay. Lose enough to Traverse City but secluded enough to be quiet and relaxing. The extra touches (wine, stuff for smores, and fresh flowers) were much appreciated. Amy was very responsive and helpful. Definitely will be back!

Serenity
This is such a beautiful property. The river flowed over the rocks creating such a serene setting. It’s like a gentle sound machine while relaxing on the deck or by the fire pit. Even had kayakers float by. The only downfall was the traffic noise but you don’t notice with the sound of the river. Also, you do cross a railroad track to get to the property. We were afraid we would hear trains frequently but only saw it once (small 4 car moving at snail pace). Learned it only uses tracks 1-2 times/month, So don’t let the tracks concern you. I would definitely stay again and recommend to anyone traveling to TC area. Loved it!!!

Relaxing Riverfront cabin getaway
Loved your cozy cabin. Perfect central location. We were able to visit wineries, go for a hike and enjoy a cozy fire next to the river. Such a nice welcome when we arrived to a basket of treats and a bottle of wine. Hosts quickly responded when we needed help getting in. Would definitely stay here again.

Secluded, wonderful cabin and great location!!!
Within thirty minutes upon entering this very charming, rustic cabin we said to each other, "oh, we're coming back here!" There are so many things to love about this place: --the central location just south of Traverse City and within easy reach of Sleeping Bear Dunes and other sites --the soothing, babbling river that runs along the property --the big, inviting fire pit in the backyard --the super comfortable patio furniture --the gorgeous, huge trees that ring the property --the urban hiking trails just down the road --the spacious living room and well-stocked kitchen --the very comfortable beds We just felt completely at home. It's very secluded--no house or people in sight, but we felt completely safe, too. It's just off a fairly well-used road (mostly during the day, so it was quiet in the evenings and at night). Although there are train tracks close to the house, there was only one very short train that rolled by in four days. Amy was wonderful to work with! She answered all our questions very quickly. She even left us a thoughtful present to celebrate a special occasion. We will definitely come back!

Perfect welcome and stay!
From the second you walk into this cabin you feel welcomed to the city! There were flowers to great us, a treat from the area and a book full of ideas to do while here. Numerous birds, squirrels and bunny’s to watch around the river and a patio to enjoy it on! Everything we needed in the kitchen was available, tons of games to play and a big table to play then on. Close to town but not the noise of the city. The hosts were terrific to work with too. A great choice for families or couples!

A very nice location and with the cottage set on the river’s edge. Lots of open space, well stocked supplies and very comfortable. Did not like the internet tv…..not user friendly and could not receive local news or events. We really enjoyed our overall stay and plan on doing it again in the near future. Thanks for a wonderful time!

A Delight on the River
I loved my stay at this cabin. It is rustic yet updated, it is also a work in progress with more planned updates coming. The owners are local and are amazing--kind, attentive, aware. The water rushing by makes it an exciting place to be. It is freshly painted red with a big hearth because it is a well loved for a longtime respite with a big heart energy to it. I slept so great here. I wouldnt recommend this space for a group, its really for a couple, solo, or with 2 or 3 children. The shower is very strong for a well. The daily wildlife is wonderful , the location to town and to trails is awesome. Trailheads at both ends of street, one is a 3 minute drive away. It is just over the train tracks but only 2 trains passed in my extended stay. Its fun to see the kayakers passing, its heaven to sit on the deck or next to the water. The heaters work great. The fire pit is a score and its a great yard overall. This is such a charming place, and I would return in a minute. :) Thx again!!! <3 <3 <3

I can't say enough good things about the location as well as Amy. She was friendly and responded quickly and she was kind enough to give us suggestions of locations and events worth visiting. She also gave a few tidbits about the history of the property which was so fun to know. The view of the river is beautiful from the porch/backyard but also from the living room. We hope to visit again!

Family trip
The River front home was absolutely amazing!! The place was so clean and we loved hearing the River. The property is beautiful and so peaceful. It was the best stay! We would love to come back. The best family vacation we could’ve asked for. The informational binder was a wonder to have when we didn’t know what winery to try out or where to eat for dinner. The host was so easy to contact. We truly couldn’t have loved our stay more!

Fantastic cabin
The cabin was clean and well stocked. We appreciated the goodies of ice cream and s’mores, finding them felt like finding a fun treasure. The family room was spacious and the deck was amazing. The location was perfect, we easily traveled from Crystal Lake to Sutton’s Bay. The only downside was a day and a half of rain!

Lovely stay on the River
My family and I had such a relaxing time at the river house! It was so calming listening to the river flow by all day. The bird feeder added extra entertainment too! The house was was cozy and rustic with enough modern updates to make the stay perfect. It was also equipped with everything we needed to make our stay great. Kitchen supplies and games! We enjoyed walking the river and watching kayakers go by! Amy was an amazing host who replied to ALL my questions quickly and with thoughtful answers. She was a great host and we made the most from the week we were able to spend there! Also conveniently located. I was surprised how close we were to shops. I walked to the trail daily. And so close to downtown TC! Thanks for a great stay!

A literal "Hidden Gem"
This cozy river house can not be seen from the road. It has everything one needs and more. The house is great and the outside property is amazing. The sounds of the river and chirping birds at the feeder, foster relaxation and tranquility. There is plenty of vista seating on the deck, around the fire pit or relaxing in the hammock. It was the best base camp for our getaway. Close to Traverse City, and also easy day trips to the Sleeping Bear dunes, wineries and more. We highly recommend!!!

Great Cottage and Amazing Hosts.
This is a must stay at location when visiting Traverse City. Well appointed home with all the little details covered for a vrbo. Lovely backyard with a hammock, picnic table chairs and firepit. All of this right on the boardman river. 5 minutes to chums corner, 10 minutes to downtown, 20 to east bay boat launch. We'll definitely be looking to stay there again next year when we do our fall fishing trip.
