Lovely stay. No tv or a/c but didn’t miss it. Stayed in the house on second floor. It’s like stepping back in time. Lots of antiques and so much charm. On the lake with plenty of things to do or just sit on the porch rocking enjoying good conversation with family. Very clean room and bathrooms;staff was helpful and kind.
This resort is straight out of the Dirty Dancing movie. The quaint property is like a time capsule from an earlier era.
Our third-floor room was clean, quiet, and relaxing. I enjoyed a nice afternoon lounging at the beach as families played in the water. The staff members were friendly and easily accommodated a last-minute change to our itinerary. Please read the property description so you know what you're getting. We did and were not disappointed.
The staff were great and accommodated to our needs, the property was historic indeed and offered a trip back in time. The surrounding lake area was a bonus, what caught us by surprise is the public bathrooms, personally I am not used to it and wish I knew that rooms (not suites) did not have private bathrooms.
It’s such a cool historic place, however in serious need of updating, a coat of paint everywhere, better linens.
We had terrible bugs in our room as the housekeepers left a window cracked…it was a nightmare…couldn’t use the bathroom all night until bugs were cleaned up. Very disappointing.
We felt like we had gone back to a slower, more relaxing period in our country without all the hustle of today. The fact that we had room 1 and cabin 1 put us almost literally on the water, which was peaceful and cozy.

Disliked: Amenities
Quiet older lodge hotel on Lake Leelanau. Minimal amenities.
I felt a little mislead regarding the rooms. Was told we had two beds and a jacuzzi room as well as waterfront. Arrived to a one bedroom room with a very odd shower setup and definitely not waterfront. No airconditioning either. I feel pretty jipped to pay 170 for this room.

We stayed in one of the "hotel rooms" rather than a cabin. Guests should know it is a 3 story antique hotel - stairs only to 2nd and 3rd floor guestrooms. Our room was ample in size and the bed and linens were very comfortable. Each floor shares 2 bathrooms (6-7 rooms per floor) which at first felt awkward, but since there was no-one else on our floor was no biggie. We had not lodged this style before and felt uncertain about what spaces we could use. There is a terriffic play area for children, Our grandsons loved playing on the pirate ship and the swings. and of course in the water. There were paddle boards, and kayaks for use as well as fishing gear, shuffle board, fooseball, billiards and other such games and toys for inside and outside. The staff was friendly and If we were there longer, I am sure we would have figured out how to get glassware for our evening wine, sneak into the kitchen to bake some cookies or? Overall I recommend but be prepared for something a little different than your average hotel experience. More like staying in a home.
We had a room in the hotel. It doesn't have air conditioning. There is no bathroom in your room. There are 3 shared bathrooms at the end of the hall. All of the rooms are on the 2nd or 3rd floors with no elevator or person available to carry your luggage up and down the stairs. I would return to Fountain Point but to stay in one of the cottages. I loved the beach, grounds, game room and the food truck.
We were totally disappointed in this place. The good: it’s on a beautiful piece of property and has tons of history behind it. We didn’t mind that it was old, but it’s very, very outdated and should not call itself a hotel. It’s more of a B&B with bathrooms down the hall and window air conditioners if needed on hot nights. Unfortunately we got stuck on the third floor - think lugging a heavy suitcase up two flights of stairs with other baggage. This was highly disappointing after calling a few weeks in advance to try to add another day to the stay before learning more about the amenities. The woman I spoke with told that they could “maybe” accommodate us if they moved us up a floor and I asked her not to move us the the third floor, to keep us on the second. Well they did anyway. We get that the place is old but the flooring, carpet and bathrooms don’t have to look it. It could also use a good scrubbing as dust and grime can be seen throughout the “hotel”. The cabins seem to be coveted, but we didn’t get a chance to check them out. The best part of the stay was ordering breakfast from the food truck that lives on site.
The room is very old - no air conditioning.
The room is not done every day. Need to go to the main house to ask new towels. More a old Airbnb than a resort.
The place however is nice.
