"Stayed here during the 75th anniversary of d-day. On arrival didn't know how to check in but was not a problem as owner lives next door. Great location to easily get to other places. Resident chickens in the garden made our stay welcoming and interesting. One day owner left us fresh eggs and on the last night of our stay left us a bottle of wine and biscuits. "There were seven adults and three children staying and as there was a sink in each bedroom and three bathrooms there was no queing to get ready in the morning. "We had a lovely stay here for 10 days which felt very much like a home from home. The house was spacious, comfortable, clean, well equipped and felt safe and secure in a small village Baudre. We visited all the Normandy landing beaches, the American Cemetery, Overload and D-Day Experience museums, Pointe de Hoc, Maisy battery, Pegasus Bridge and Caretan which were all 35 to 60 mins drive. A very enjoyable stay😊

"Our five night stay in this beautiful chateau was a delight. It is set in lovely countryside and is very quiet and peaceful. It is an excellent base for exploring northern Normandy. We drove to Mont St.Michel, Bayeux etc from here. You really do need a vehicle to get around. A few restaurants are 10 mins or so away in the local village. A delightful breakfast was provided by our host Cecilia who was so welcoming, informative and patient with my efforts to speak French. Breakfast consisted of the most amazing pastries I've ever had (and I've had quite a few), bread, jam, cheese, yoghurt - all produced a stones throw away. The room was lovely, extremely clean (and I am a bit OCD) and our daughter had a little separate bedroom next to ours which I didn't realise when I booked it but it was great and she loved it. No TV but that was fine for me (I think my other half missed it though) and lots of information on local restaurants and places to go/things to do. If we were to visit again, we would consider staying in a cottage where we would be able to rustle up some dinner. NB. I think there are some old photos of this chateau on some of the holiday websites - ignore them. The room we had (?The Angels) was a delight, spacious and modernised where necessary - shower, sink and cabinet etc but still retaining the stunning original features - doors and floors etc."

Hidden Gem!

"What a wonderful place! We are a family of four and were worried that our two boys would run out of things to do but they loved it! The garden is big enough to explore, play football, badminton and get lost in. The swing and outdoor shower were an added bonus. The house is perfectly located 1hr from Caen, 20 minutes from Vire and an easy drive to the D day beaches. There is a beautiful lake near by which has pedalos and canoes for hire and for adrenaline junkies there is the Normandie Luge and Aqueduct nr by where you can bungie or fly through the air on a 2km zip line trail. Close to large supermarkets but also a little shop 5mins away in the local village. The house if beautifully kitted out with everything you would need. The only thing I would change was a more comfortable sofa to watch tv in the evenings Thank you Marc for letting us stay in your beautiful home. "

Good hotel, good walking.

"Great setting of the hotel, upon arrival we were given an upgrade of our room. Nice and very large on the ground floor. A somewhat dated room but nevertheless clean and lovely. Parking was easy and on the large grounds. A quiet area. For dinner we decided to walk into town a walk of about 25 minutes. To begin with it was downhill and then levelled out and then up the hill towards the church. We are older citizens and the walk was no major challenge more a lovely walk. The town has many choices for dinner and is a nice place to walk around. Overall the hotel was a very good choice. Breakfast was a nice affair."
