"Enjoyable stay with comfortable bed, plenty of towels available and close to Ferry landing.Major issue for us was the extremely rough track which wasn't a pleasant experience each time we went out and came back. We would consider it more than a "bumpy driveway". Smart TV did not work after day 2 unless it was operator error. Otherwise everything was available that enables us to have an enjoyable stay."

"Despite the terrible weather, we had a wonderful stay at Barrier Headquarters. The beds and couch were very comfortable, the kitchen is huge and well appointed, and there are lots of bathrooms too. The view from the deck is impressive, as pictured. Lots of good walks around - including the Kowhai Track, along the
beach
and around the bay. We weren't impressed when the cost per night jumped after we reduced our stay from 4 nights to 3 nights, but Anthony was so accommodating, we forgave him!"

"Lovely bach right next to the shop, cafe and pub! The owner Brent is very friendly and accommodating, he popped in most days, he allowed us to check in early and late due to my daughter’s nap time, and he even gave us some of his freshly caught fish (which he filleted at the bach). The

is great for kids, as it’s shallow at low tide and is easy for little kids to splash and play!"
