Cozy Mtn Lakefront Cabin on Wolf Lake w/Pontoon boat/Kayaks/Hot Tub/Firepit

Gather your family and friends and come stay at our Cozy Mountain Lakefront Cabin nestled along the east shoreline of Wolf Lake in Paradise Cove, where peaceful serenity awaits you!

This cozy cabin has approximately 2,600 sq. ft. of living space, with 4 bedrooms and 2 ½ baths.

As you drive along the quaint state road that runs along the east side of Wolf Lake, you will be mesmerized by the beauty of the area and the crystal clear water of Wolf Lake on your left. Drive .8 miles and turn right up an asphalt driveway that leads to a beautiful custom built two story cabin, with wrap around decks on the first and second level. The cabin is cedar sided with stacked Tennessee field stone, and is the shape of a hexagon with beautiful views from every angle!

The main entrance leads you inside the first level to an open floor plan which includes a family room, dining room that seats eight, a free standing wood stove and rock hearth, sitting area and kitchen. The pantry, laundry room, and a half bath adjoin the open floor plan. The floors are hardwood and all the rooms on this level have tongue & grooved wood 10’ ceilings with recessed lighting. The family room has a sliding glass door that opens to the rock patio where the picnic tables are located. This area is connected by a wrap around deck that overlooks the lake and mountains. The sitting area on the opposite side of the cabin has a sliding glass door that leads out to a rock patio where you will find a Leisure Bay Spa Hot Tub with seating for 3 people and lounges for 2 more. This area also has a Weber Gas Grill.

As you walk up the carpeted stairs to the second level you walk in to a great room that has vaulted ceilings with wooden beams, a beautiful rock fireplace, breathtaking views of the lake and mountains, and two sliding glass doors that lead out to a massive wrap around deck. The walls in this great room are tongue & grooved wood and all the floors on this second level are carpeted. All four bedrooms are located on this upper level. The Master Bedroom has a king size bed, with private bath, and sliding glass door that leads out to a covered porch. The second bedroom has a king size bed, third bedroom has a king size bed, and fourth bedroom has a queen bed. These three bedrooms share the second bath that has a standard size bath & shower.

Now let’s step outside! Take a seat in one of several rocking chairs on the wrap around decks and enjoy the tranquility of this very special place. We have a nice level big yard facing the lake with an awesome spot for bonfires! Amazing sunsets and the sky is full of stars that seem like you can just reach up and touch them!

Time to head down to the lake! Our cabin is located along the shoreline of Wolf Lake, which is 183 acres of crystal clear emerald water (Blue Jewell) that meanders between the mountains. This lake is the headwaters of the East Fork of the Tuckasegee River 3,080 feet above sea level. Forty percent of the shoreline is bordered by National Forest. In the 1950’s a dam was built to control flooding downstream and provide hydroelectric power. Wolf Lake is at the top of a stair-step system of lakes that includes Tanasee, Bear, and Cedar Cliff. The Lake tributaries are Wolf Creek, Charley’s Creek, and Long Branch.

The cabin comes with the use of a private boat dock, swim beach, and shaded picnic area. The boat dock has a 16’ X 16’ platform with ladder, for fishing, swimming, lounging, and boat docking. Our rates include the use of an 18’ Sun Tracker Pontoon Boat for cruising the lake, fishing, or to lounge in. We also have four kayaks & paddles for our guests to use. You’re more than welcome to bring your own boat, jet ski, kayaks, or canoes. Across the lake is a NC Wildlife Boat Access Area with loading dock that you can use to launch your boat. Drive your boat across the lake to our private dock where you can keep the boat during your stay.

Wolf Lake is located off of Canada Road (Hwy 281) between Lake Toxaway and Tuckasegee, NC. We are eleven miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway where you can view Wolf Lake & Wolf Mountain from Overlook 424.8. We call this area “The Center of the Universe” and you can go in any direction and find great hiking, waterfalls, amazing motorcycle riding, and quaint little towns for shopping & dining. We are thirty miles from Western Carolina University and the towns of Cashiers, Brevard, Sylva, & Dillsboro.

Great Place to Chill
Can't really say anything more than has already been said in previous reviews! The place is great to relax, fish, kayak, take the pontoon out, swim, BBQ, etc. It is indeed remote and you want to be sure to bring as much of your personal stuff and groceries with you as the road to "civilization" is very curvy and up and down.

Amazing place to stay!
Amazing place to stay! We absolutely loved our time there. The owners are attentive in communication and maintain the home / grounds very well. The lake was crystal clear and refreshing. The lake is big enough so that there is plenty to explore, but small enough that we let the kids wander out a bit on their own kayaks (included). Having a private dock & beach with a pontoon boat available at all times made everything so easy to enjoy. Also, plenty of other outdoor activities nearby. All of the beds and furniture were very comfortable. The wrap around decks on the second floor were perfect for the spectacular sunsets. We cooked or bbq’d on the grill most nights and everything we needed (appliances / utensils) was provided. There are also good restaurants within 20 min.We can’t wait to come back, thank you!

Beautiful lake in the mountains
Our second time at this lovely home tucked away in the mountains overlooking a beautiful lake. We enjoyed the pontoon boat every day and the canoes as well. Love the upgrade of Starlink for internet. S’mores around the fire pit and soothing hot tub to round out each day. Thanks again!

Amazing Slice of Away
We had a beautiful 5 days of peace at Joan and Mike's and will definitely return. The cabin is setup nicely - stocked with everything you would need - with lots of places to relax inside and outside, and a large grass area is great for relaxing and for the kids to run around. Having access to the pontoon boat was a huge bonus and really helped us enjoy and explore the lake (and catch more fish). Fishing was pretty good, caught 5 trout, a few bass and lots of sunfish. Was sad to hit the road, a lot of memories created in a short time!

Serenity
The lake and mountains provide a beautiful backdrop to this very homey and roomy cabin. The cabin has many spaces where you can gather as a large group or sneak off to privately read or just sit and take in the awesome views. The kitchen is fully stocked with all appliances, cookware and bakeware that any group would need. The outdoor fireplace, picnic tables and hot tub add a lot of enjoyment but nothing beats the peacefulness of kayaking or pontooning on the lake. The water is clean and the shallow parts are truly clear. Despite the public boat ramp located across the lake, the lake was never busy and we were there during the Labor Day weekend. The pontoon was loaded with 2 large gas tanks, the hot tub was already heated and the many floats were all inflated. The owners are extremely friendly and have thought of everything that one may need or enjoy during their stay. The bedroom that is next to the master’s does not have an air vent. There is a window but without a breeze it did get overly warm. The carpeting appeared clean but our socks proved otherwise. Other than those two cons, the cabin was absolutely wonderful and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are looking forward to returning here again in the future. We will take our food and know that once we arrive, there’s no reason to ever leave. This cabin has it all.

The best 'Show-up-and-Stay' Lake House
Having stayed in rental houses across the US, the Americas and the world, I can easily say that Mike and Joan's lake house is the best equipped we have encountered. They have thoughtfully stocked the house so guests can simply --- 'show-up-and-stay' 😃 Your kids want to fish? No problem, they have tackle and polls. Oh, they want to play on the lake? The house has a boat kayaks, floats, tubes and a big floating mat. Parents want specialty morning coffee on the porch? There are 3 different types of coffee makers, coffee, filter, sugars, etc. Other things we noticed and loved: ◾Super comfortable beds and extra blankets, pillows, etc. ◾Extremely well stocked kitchen including small appliances, baking items, spices, oils, etc. ◾Downstairs bathroom has a well-stocked first aid cabinet and feminine hyenine items (this is very compassionate considering the grocery store is 45 min away). ◾The property has a great wrap-around porch for peaceful mornings which overlooks the lake and dock. ◾Great fire pit, wood, roasting sticks and plenty of seating for family fire nights. ◾Whole cabinet full of games, puzzles, etc. ◾Downstairs they have a dedicated kid-activity cabinet full of painting stuff, coloring, children's books, movies, etc. ◾There is a fish cleaning station next to the garage. ◾The hosts checked in regularly and ensured we had all we needed. ◾Full laundry room with soap and stain spray. ◾Great offering of local maps, activities, hikes and handwritten binders.

Perfect mountain lake retreat
This was definitely the perfect lake house for our family of 6 adults and family dog! The house is more beautiful and spacious than the pictures show with very nice furnishings and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The house has every amenity you could need including two refrigerators, dishwasher, tons of dishes, glasses serving bowls, casseroles, knives, electric skillet, crock pot, coffe pot, kerig, ect. The hot tub was very large and the owners included plenty of towels for the hot tub, lake and all bathrooms. The full laundry room also came in handy. The views of the lake from the house and flat yard were breathtaking. The water is such a beautiful blueish green and very clear. The private dock and beach on the secluded cove were the perfect place to enjoy all the lake floats, amazing lily pad and lets not forget the kyaks and pontoon boat to cruise the quite lake thats surrounded by mountains and national forest. The hosts are very quick to respond and do everything to ensure your stay is just amazing. There are books of activities and adventures in the area with clear directions and maps. Make sure you hike to the top of the mountain behind the house for beautiful sunrises and sunsets. The view at 3600+ feet is spectacular! We would highly recommend this house. You definitely wont be disappointed. It's the type of place you could call home.

Great retreat away from it all
The house was clean, well-appointed, and had ample seating options inside & out. The comfortable sleeping arrangements accommodated our group of three, but it can easily accommodate large groups. The hosts were dog-friendly, which was greatly appreciated. The kitchen was stocked with spices, utensils, and cookware, making it easy to prepare meals. Additional amenities like laundry and a second fridge were convenient for longer stays. We enjoyed the lovely lake views from various areas, especially the private dock, where we could observe the sunrise and sunset. There were plenty of options for activities, including fishing, water toys, a grill, hot tub, fire pit, kayaks, and a pontoon. For indoor entertainment, games, puzzles, DVDs, and dish network were available. The hosts provided brochures and handwritten notes about local attractions, helping us plan our outings. Cell coverage was non existent at the cabin, but that was fine with us. We had to make one call, & a hike to the top of the hill gave us a few bars to call out. There is a landline available as well if you need it, & the internet service is fast enough if you need to look a few things. Clear instructions were provided for house care, & the owners were available for any questions. We found the lake peaceful, even during Memorial Day weekend. Overall, our stay was a wonderful & tranquil mountain escape. We would gladly return in the future.

Perfect stayction
Even nicer than the pictures let on - this cabin was such a lovely, private spot. We came with 3 couples and 2 dogs and there was plenty of space. The hosts were very responsive and left tons of detailed instructions for the various amenities. Since we'd planned to just hang around the cabin for most of the week, we particularly enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen (every tool we needed), corn-hole boards, hot tub, fire pit, and kayaks. While we ventured out a couple times to stock up on groceries or enjoy local hiking, we were very happy to stay in for the most part. I would love to come back during slightly warmer months so we can spend more time actually swimming in the lake! The couple of days when it was hot enough were delightful.

Perfect property to unplug
The Webb's cabin retreat at Wolf Creek Reservoir was the perfect getaway for our family (two adults, four kids, two senior citizens, and two big dogs). The cabin was spacious, yet cozy, and it fit us with ease; the property was set right off the reservoir with direct access through their dock and was picture perfect; and the amenities were plentiful and used regularly (kayaks, boat, firepit, hot tub, wraparound porch, and more). It was picturesque, and every one of us was sad to leave such a serene and beautiful location. The Webb's communication was A+ as there were check-in and check-out instructions, local pamphlets, direct iMessaging with Joan, and a landline to compensate for no cell coverage. They were fantastic hosts. The ONLY constructive criticism I'd offer is concerning the internet situation. Without cell coverage due to the location, we planned to use the wi-fi to place calls and text, as needed. Within two days of our stay, we were already over our allotted limit (10 GBs) and had to pay for extra data - we did not stream movies, music, or games - we simply used it for communications and googling the hikes, waterfalls, and local towns. In the end, we paid a little extra money to have more data, and ultimately made the decision to unplug the router to not rack up the usage. My suggestion would be to not charge for the extra data usage and just bake that into the cost of the booking. It was frustrating, but it was a minor blip - especially for an out of town family just trying to use the internet for basic 2022 stuff. That said, we'd recommend this place 100 times out of 100, and we will absolutely look to rebook if we decide to revisit the NC mountains again for vacation. Thanks so much!

We loved everything about our stay here! We had everything we needed at the cabin and then some.... towels, blankets, detergent, condiments, etc. The owners made it very convenient for us! We only left the cabin one day to go check out Cherokee... other than that we spent our time boating, swimming, fishing, and playing games! Definitely a family favorite for us.... we plan on returning next year!

Excellent get-a-way when you need quiet solitude in the outdoors
My family enjoyed the house and its property to the fullest. The house layout allows for plenty of separation for adult guests while providing plenty of gathering spots for evening family dinners, outdoor fires, and hot tub gatherings. The kitchen is well stocked and the second refrigerator is a life saver because the nearest grocery store is 45 minutes away-plan accordingly. The owners are dog lovers which was a huge bonus for my family and our 2 yo Labrador who greatly appreciated being included in our family vacation. The only minor downside to this property is the internet setup which is very slow at times and has usage payments attached. Despite being disclosed upfront by the owners, I would willingly pay $10 more per day towards their nightly reservation rates than pay for daily GB usage or have to worry about how much my teenagers are streaming during my vacation.

Relaxing
Being in a comfortable house on a beautiful lake in a secluded area during the turning of the leaves is relaxing. There are not many houses around the lake and it is 45 minutes from the nearest town. We toured the lake, went fishing and had a picnic on the lake in the pontoon boat. Even on the 2 days when there was inclement weather we enjoyed this adventure.
