Nice setting
Nice setting. Neat old house. Good WiFi. The well water was pretty funky (brown) when we arrived but the property manager advised letting it run until it cleared. It took quite a while but that did the trick. We especially liked the owl that roosted in a nearby tree every night.

Great private guest house
This little guest house was great as a base for hiking in Tucson. It's located between the two Saguaro National Parks and the Santa Catalina Mountains. I had great privacy, everything I needed in the house and a beautiful setting to sit outside. I enjoyed the pool, the decks, the sunrises and sunsets. A great horned owl perched on a tree at dusk and hooted for a while.

Spectacular location. Property needs some updates.
The pictures are accurate, but the site is even better then I expected. The whole pool area is private to the rental and includes a bonus sheltered area. The main house isn't occupied so there's plenty of privacy...even from the other rental unit. It's very close to The Loop and many shops and restaurants. It is on top of a hill that that take effort to walk or with a bike. The interior is quite dated but serviceable. It need paint and new carpet.

Views Sunsets and Tranquility
The views of the mountains, the city and the sunsets were breathtaking. The pool area is delightful and peaceful place to hangout and the environment is tranquil. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was clean, updated and useful. The owner was responsive, helpful and kind. Although it feels like you are up and way from everything, I was 10 minutes to campus, and 5 minutes to anything else I would want to access. Perfect. I would stay here again.

Great location!
It was difficult to find the unit when first arriving. The house was small, but quite cozy. The owners need to give some attention to the home such as replacing the door to the laundry room. The door will not shut and during a storm it just slammed open and shut all night long.. Overall, I enjoyed staying there and would so again.

Somewhat disappointing
The location of the property was excellent as far as accessibility to most destinations of interest in the Tucson area. The views of the Mountains and Desert were great. The only negative issue was the constant traffic noise as the property is close to a major thoroughfare. The House is small and only suitable for 2 people and it still felt rather confined. When we first entered the house it smelled musty like it had been shut up and hadn't been used in a while. The pool is not heated and the water was in the 40-50 degree range and therefore not usable(Note: we stayed in January, later in the year it may warm up?). The outdoor space is very nice and has a portable firepit which we used several times. The listing amenities state there is a private driveway with remote opening gate, this was not the case as the driveway "appeared" to be shared with a neighboring house and the gate was always in the open position with the control pad no longer usable. The Kitchen sink plugged up on us and had to be plunged out by the Host, they did correct the problem right away. By far the biggest issue/problem is the NOISE the water heater makes every time it fires up to heat the water(which is quite often) As another reviewer stated, it sounds like a pair of tennis shoes tumbling in your dryer and this noise is transmitted throughout the house and woke us up many a night. In conclusion if someone where to ask me if we would stay there again the answer would unfortunately be no.

Deceptive
Property photos on webSite were very misleading. The casita felt claustrophobic. In the bedroom there were pieces of ceiling peeling and falling onto the bedcovers. It was somewhat rundown and the tiny kitchen was very ill-equipped. The coffee maker was a small plastic device which we tried to clean and was impossible to get out the grounds and calcification. A scorpion greeted us at the door upon our arrival. The view of the mountains from the backyard was lovely but we could hear the constant din of cars on River Road. We were extremely disappointed and stayed only 2 of the 7 nights we paid for and moved on to another home elsewhere in Tucson.

Beautiful mountain views
The unit itself is quite small and tight quarters for two of us. There wasn’t any cold water from the taps and the water that we did get we boiled and kept in the fridge. It was not very clear, so we chose to buy bottled water instead. The pool was quite cool with it not getting over 65 degrees, but we managed to get in a few times. Getting up in the morning with a coffee and sitting on the deck with the views of the mountain were priceless! Incredibly beautiful! The scenery can’t be beat!

Perfect place for rest and relaxation
Really enjoyed my stay here. The gueshouse has complete privacy in lovely rustic setting that is peaceful and tranquil. Inside was spotlessly clean. It has everything one needs -- comfy bed, plenty of storage, full kitchen, and it's so quiet at night, both inside and out. Meg is an excellent host. She worked with me when I needed an earlier check-in and checked in with me half way through my stay to ensure I had everything I needed. My stay was perfect... thank you Meg.

Cute, Small, great location
Meg was a great host. Great communication. Enjoyed our stay. The place is smaller than it appears on the pics. A few things we really enjoyed about it: The view is beautiful. The lower deck is cooler and a great place to watch the sunset. The firepit is a nice feature. Lots of outdoor space for you to use. Very close to lots of food, shopping, and anything you need. Bed was pretty good. AC was strong and good. Interior was clean and a great little place with anything you might need. Things we wish were better: The pool. It's beautiful, and very nice. But it was very cold. Like 68 cold. We couldn't even use it. I get not spending money on the heater, just a fair heads up. Was really hoping to use it (it was 90 all week) but best we could do is sit on the side and put our feet in to cool off. The water heater in the utility/laundry room. It makes noise all the time. Sounds like a washing machine with tennis shoes in it. constantly. And it comes thru the walls into the place. So if you sleep lightly, bring some ear plugs. Fridge is quite loud too, as is the AC. Again, we slept thru it all but at times it was very apparent. In general, it was a nice stay. Happy with it. Just was missing the pool time.

Unique picturesque location close-in
This clean, quiet, comfortable one-bedroom casita is in a truly unique location. Situated on the top of a hill just off River Rd, the setting provides nearly 360 degree view of the natural surroundings, including sunrise, panorama of downtown Tucson, the near-by Catalina mtns to the north, and terrific sunsets. We watched the lunar eclipse from the common area in front of the casita and it was spectacular. This is also close to the Rilito, the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club, and a short drive (~15-20min) to downtown. Host Meg was prompt in response to questions, and flexible with arrival/departure times when she could be. This is our second stay at this casita, and if we didn't buy a home here during our last visit we'd be back again! Note that the pool, while pretty, is not heated and therefore water is too cold to use during winter months...

The guest house was a perfect getaway for the two of us. The location is great - close to the mountains for hiking, yet close enough to shopping for every day needs. The owners were very accommodating to our schedule, making our trip that much better...many thanks!

Beautiful views!
This modest suite has impressive views in all directions. That is it’s best feature. The location is also good. It’s close to downtown or hiking in the mountains. The suite has kitchen basics for cooking or simple meal preparation. The bedroom and bathroom are adequate. The TV/sitting room is comfortable. It’s best for no more than 2 people . Multi-use trail nearby makes it walkable to the Rillito farmers market Sunday or to Trader Joe’s for groceries. Coffee in the morning watching the sun rise makes it a special memory.

A Pretty quiet house at the border of the desert
I came from France to Tucson to do hiking in south Arizona in August (less than 2-3 hours drive from Tucson). I particularly appreciated East Saguaro park (a lot of wild animals early morning, lovely cactus flowers), several hikes in the Tucson mountains, the wonderful Arizona-Sonora desert museum near west Saguaro park, the unique ambiance of Tombstone, the nice town of Bisbee (with excellent coffee and foods), and the Organ pipe cactus national monument near the Mexican border. The house is situated in a very quite place in the foothills of Catalina Mountains but you are very close to everything (shops, restaurant, etc). From the house you can enjoy the nature of the desert. The house is pretty with a very comfortable bed and a very well equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, a large view on Catalina mountains and the North of Tucson (often nice sunsets). At last but not least, Jim and Meg were attentive and for me it was always a pleasure to discuss with them (for instance, nice breakfast with Jim at Egg Connection restaurant). In brief I had super time at this place and very likely will be back next year.
