Lovely stay room was really quiet bed comfortable, and the best breakfast ever. Very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely stay again.
The views over the bay ay breakfadt were lovely.
We wanted to dtay here after a lunch visit in the summer. The food is excellent, breakfast & dinner both had good choice of menu with the food been of extremely high standard. Second to none.
Get a room with the seaview, worth the extra.
Room not the biggest and some fittings are dated and have seen better days, but perfectly adequate.
Food excellent and service very good.
Nice when the fire is blazing.
Food and accommodations is lovley. The location is set near the bay and edge of Canal Foot. Within walkink distance of town / walk along canal and sea edge.
Wonderful hotel
Just spent six amazing days at the bay horse hotel and restaurant
Food excellent staff amazing nothing was to much trouble for anybody if you wanted to change an item on the menu they were only to willing to please
The views took my breath away just a magical place cannot wait to go back .
The only reason I would not stay here for a prolonged period is that the food is so good, I would pile on the weight.

A very warm and welcoming place to stay with lovely staff and great service. The food was spectacularly good - every part of our 3 course dinner (4 people) was stunning, and my husband and I agreed we’d had the best ‘full English’ we’d ever had anywhere (and we travel a lot) - everything on the table was home made including the marmalade and lemon curd. Our doggy friendly room was small but sweet with a stunning view and there were piles of towels in the spotlessly clean bathroom. The only let down was the bed with it’s dreadful mattress and we both slept badly - my husband constantly felt like he was falling out of bed! Such a shame as everything else was great!
Close to the sea and canal for dog 🐶 walking fantastic views and an all in fantastic Hotel well worth visiting. I would love to stay again in the near future.
I was very disappointed by this hotel it looks great on the websites it is on but once you see it for yourself it doesn’t come up to scratch.
Yes it is set in a lovely location but the hotel itself is rather run down and would benefit from a full refurb the room o was on certaonly did not look as good as any on the website. It smelt rather musty and the curtains had spots of black damp over them. It was also rather worrying that the patio window had its lock installed upside dune and had a “knack” to opening it.
I had my evening meal in the hotel but cannot day I was very impressed with it so much so that I ate elsewhere the following night.
Breakfast was average the milk for my cerial was warm and the cornflakes appeared to be a cheap alternative and the bread the toast was made from was not nice. The marmalade, lemon curd etc was in a glass type pot that was obviously left out on the table for several uses not very hygienic.
One thing I didn’t appreciate was always being asked when I would be having breakfast also the night I did dine out I was phoned at 9 am and asked when I would be coming back this was supposedly because I left my do not disturb sign on my door because I did not want the staff coming in and turning my bed down again.
I think I now understand why the hotel take a deposit and had I not paid this I would have most likely gone elsewhere.

Location Location Location, but thats all.
A tired property in need of refurbishment. Good room with excellent view but marred by too heavy a quilt on the bed and no openable window that could be left open at night, just french doors. Excellent breakfast but Restaurant was very expensive. £19.95 for Fish and Chips??? Would I recommend? probably not. £120 a night is too much for this Hotel in its present condition. (I believe it is up for sale)
For the price we paid the room, Lapwing, was very small. The fact that the only view through a hole in the net curtain was a hedge 2 foot away from the window. The food was good but very over priced. The restaurants floor hadn't been cleaned an it was stained. The roof was corrigated plastic and again very dirty.
I would recommend this to couples who want pure peace and quiet. We had a balcony room which over looked the beach/sea. The tide comes in at a certain time at night and although by no means the best beach ever it helps you relax. If you walk 1.5 mile down the canal you reach a decent centre with shops and decent dog friendly pubs/bars. Very nice breakfast also.
