"5 stars! The Elea Mare is a fabulous value in an authentic Greek coastal village, run by a host (Greg) who personifies customer care. As an example, our young-adult daughter became mildly sick during our stay, and Greg provided tea and offered to check up on her when we left her in the hotel by herself for half a day. "Even as beautiful as it looks online, the photos still do not compare to how truly breathtaking this property is in person! The facilities are lovely, surrounded by flowers with an incredible view of the ocean down below. Liza and Volker were so very kind and attentive, ensuring we had any amenities we needed and graciously making themselves available to us. We were so comfortable and so delighted by our stay here — until next time!"

"This is a nice property in Monemvasia but we did experience a few problems. The electricity went out multiple times and we were initially asked to work around their schedule for check-in time. Communication with the management was unpleasant and some untruths were told by them. Not sure whether this was an isolated event or a pattern. "This property is an excellent location in Montemvasia. The staff was welcoming, the location and position (right new the water) is beautiful. We would commend this to anyone that wants a comfortable, roomy experience. There is a marble well-cap in the center of the room that the archeological people didn't want to remove. I'm glad they didn't. We say a picture later in the museum!"

"We hired the family room that sleeps 5. Good bathroom and comfortable living area. The kids loved living within the walls of the Castro which was an amazing experience. The views are breathtaking. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and looked after us well. Highly recommend. "

"This hotel is a wonderful retreat. It’s very relaxing with beautiful scenery. Close enough to go explore or just hang out and enjoy the atmosphere. The pools are beautiful, the gardens are wonderful. The landscaping is fabulous. We had dinner in the restaurant one night. It was amazing. But nothing compares to the breakfast each morning. I’ve never seen anything like it. The food was absolutely scrumptious. This is a wonderful hotel that I would definitely stay in again."

"This hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few metres from the beach (pebbly). Breakfast can be taken at their terrace on the beach (breakfast superb!) overlooking the rock. All the staff are really helpful and friendly. The room was big, if a little dated, but very very clean and comfortable, with good air conditioning and a terrace. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. The bathroom is small, but sparkingly clean and functional, with plenty of hot water. When we had a faulty light fitting one evening the staff were very quick to respond and even at 8 pm the faulty fitting was replaced without any fuss. We cannot fault this hotel and would definately recommend. "
