"This was exactly what I was looking for quiet, cozy, and isolated. Stepping outside the cottages to see the northern lights was a dream come true. For me, it’s a five-star experience, and I’d happily stay here again on my next trip to Iceland. "The cabin was great. It was definitely a home away from home. We got to pet the horses and were able to see the northern lights on a clear day. The only con I have is that our beds were on the softer side and lumpy but it didn’t factor in my rating. My advice is definitely come before sundown because the roads are dark and road is somewhat rocky. Also, get your snacks and/or food before you come cause it a decent drive to find something and most of the stores close early"

"Firs they forgot to send us the code for the lock box. With the bad signal I had in that location it was very difficult to call them. After about 5 attempts they finally picked up the phone and they give me the information which they supposed to do at least 24 hours before our arrival. "By far the most beautiful private space we stayed in while in Iceland. It is very secluded, quiet and the unassuming exterior conceals an interior that will take your breath away. The price seemed a bit high when we booked it, but after experiencing it first hand I feel it was worth every krona and then some. I would love to have stayed a few days so I could really soak in the farm and become even better friends with the resident ponies! It was everything I was hoping it would be! "

"We had an excellent stay at Ásólfsskáli Cottage! The cottage is clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed. It’s in a beautiful location on a farm by the mountains, with stunning views and great hiking nearby. Katrin, the owner, provided outstanding service. We lost a SIM card from our drone, which had all our Iceland memories, and she found it in a vacuum bag! We’re so grateful for her kindness and extra effort. We would love to come back and highly recommend this place!"

"great little house to relax in on the island. 15 min walk to the downtown so we can wander around to play, do some museums, eat different food, etc. very quiet and low key so we didn't have to worry about late night noise, allowing us to rest up well. amenities were nice and the room was comfortable. cozy little kitchen let us get ready for the day"

So grateful for the “wake up call” service when the Northern Lights were present as this was a bucket list experience for me. "Quaint little guesthouse! The stairs are very narrow so moving luggage is a bit difficult but the location is great. We stayed 2 nights and the radiator in the bedroom wasn’t working but the property managers left a couple of beers for us knowing that they are still renovating and it was warm enough with just the one radiator. Would stay again! "
