Alsea River Fishing Cabin

This cozy, recently remodeled cabin just east of Waldport is quiet, comfortable, and relaxing. Featuring a private dock on the Alsea River and easy access to amazing fishing, this home is an ideal place to stay if you're craving a trip away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

When you stay in this home you will be eight miles east of Waldport, so you will enjoy the serenity of nature while still being near enough to the amenities of town. You won't even have to leave your yard to go fishing in the Alsea River, though within a 20-minute drive are great beaches, tide pools, restaurants, and areas for crabbing and clamming.

The one-bedroom, one-bathroom cabin has just enough space to sleep three people. Step into the spacious living area and you will immediately notice the large windows that allow a view of the spectacular river. There are also a sleeper sofa with new mattress for the third person in your group and a recliner where you can put your feet up and relax after a long day of vacationing.

The updated kitchen has all the appliances and tools you may need to cook during your stay. You will also have a cable TV, DVD/VHS player, Internet, stereo, and wood-burning fireplace in this room, though you may prefer to sit quietly and enjoy the scenery. Outside, you will encounter a gas grill and fenced yard on your way to the nearby private dock.

This home would be perfect for a fishing trip (the peak season is late September through early November!), but anyone who wants a peaceful, quiet, and restive vacation surrounded by nature would be right at home here. Waldport and the surrounding area have spectacular beaches, lighthouses, and state parks, and the larger city of Newport and its famous aquarium is just a 30-minute drive north.

Visit this cabin perched right next to the lovely Alsea River and see for yourself how easy it is to relax here!

Alsea River Fishing Cabin
Overall the trip went well and the Cabin was as advertised. I had stayed in this same unit 2 years ago and both stays were quite nice. I noticed the carpet in the living room was pretty dirty and needs a good cleaning. On the dock … I noticed it needs some TLC regards the boat tie-downs (cleats). The ones on the down river end are unsecured and pulling away from the dock deck. A larger (and smarter) TV in the bedroom would be really nice. Spending 10 days without a washer/dryer (especially for fisherman) is a challenge. Just my two cents. Thanks for your hospitality and I would stay here in the future.

Alsea River Cabin
Great spot! The cabin and property were awesome, and we enjoyed our stay. We did have a couple of issues the water ran out, we called the management company they responded 24 hours later. The water did come back on a couple of hours later, maybe because the holding tank was refilled. The road is a long a very norrow road to get to the property and the property is located at the end of the road and there was no place to turn around with a trailer.

Off Grid Getaway
We stayed 4 nights in this cute little cabin right on the river! I enjoyed being able to walk out the door and cast my pole without the usual packing of gear. It was perfect for 2 people. I didn’t realize it was so far off the grid, so be prepared not have cell service. Overall, it was very peaceful and we enjoyed our much needed break.

It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and very dark at night.
My only complaint was the bed sags in the middle. The kitchen was well stocked. There were plenty of towels for showers .the location was great!

Perfect getaway to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Loved every minute.
This spot was everything we wanted and more. The lakeside location was beautiful and we enjoyed beverages on the dock watching boats and seals. We slept with the windows open and it was perfectly quiet with the exception of the occasional car. Would recommend to anybody wanting a serene vacation.

Great Riverfront Getaway!
Spent two nights at this cabin on the Alsea River. All accomodations were perfect and the access to the water was great. We paddled off the dock three times, including twice under the full moon! Great spot!

Really nice location and lovely home
The view of the river and the fact that it had a large kitchen and two beds in separate rooms was a big plus. Downside is there is no cell service and no long distance calls can be made from the house and our hot water went out so had to drive into town so could make a call to get a repair order. Ended up with freezing cold shower one day as a result. Seems it's a common problem. Hopefully the owner can make a way to resolve matters like this a little more easily.

Peaceful
We loved this cabin and the river! However, the one-lane road access with many blind curves was more nerve-wracking than we cared for--we actually cancelled a planned activity so we wouldn't have to drive it two more times. But enjoying the peaceful atmosphere was easy.

Lazy river days
Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our laid back vacation on the Alesha river. The 'cabin' is more like a small house. Located at the end of a private road made for quiet and private time. True, some have expressed concerns about the traffic noise from the other side of the river but it is really a non-issue. The cabin was very tastefully remodeled with new appliances and the larder was stocked with many small items to make one feel welcome (salt, pepper, coffee, tea, cooking oil, etc.). With no houses on the other side of the river (just the highway) and two large picture windows facing the river, and with national forest behind us, even when it was raining there was a tranquil setting. The listing is accurate and the house well maintained and clean. We had a little misunderstanding about the Internet password but vacasa cleared that up in a hurry. (Good communication on their part). We would definitely recommend this place for a couple for a getaway. One could bring a small boat (Pram-type) and set it in the river at the property or a larger one and launch it downriver or just around the bend upriver then moor it at the cabin. Very nice swimming if you don't mind a little salt water (tidewater). We would recommend to the owners that they increase the wattage of the bedroom light as well as the light over the dining table. Also the tv is very small and old tube type. A little larger screen would have been nice and easier to see when watching movies in the evening.
