Family cottage 15 mins from Waterton, AB! Perfect Winter Getaway

Situated only 15 minutes outside of Waterton Lakes National Park, The Sunset Cottage has the privacy, comfort, and charm to make your vacation a rejuvenating retreat! Nestled inside the friendly hamlet of Mountain View, with a panoramic view of the gently rolling hills of Southern Alberta’s beautiful farm country, this is a place you will want to return to again and again! *****Please note this house is 100 years old and in the winter months the kitchen and bathroom floor is cooler. We recommend bringing a warm pair of socks or slippers for your stay****

Our 750 square foot cottage has just undergone a complete and thorough upgrade, making everything inside and out modern, fresh and new! Sunset Cottage sleeps 8 people and includes two bedrooms. The master has a queen bed, and large closet for storage. The second bedroom has 2 bunk beds (4 twins), and huge drawers for tons of storage, as well as some bedside shelves and a mini-closet. Each bed has its own reading light and electrical socket for personal use. A portable crib is also provided.

A comfortable family room includes an electric fireplace for cozy evenings, a couch (pull-out sofa), 2 sofa chairs and a flat screen television/BLUERAY player (movie collection provided). From the comfort of the family room you can look out the large double full glass sliding doors at the picturesque view of the mountains and sunset to the west, or you can enjoy these gorgeous views from the beautiful new 400sq foot deck just outside.

Sunset Cottage has a fully renovated new kitchen, including a new dishwasher and microwave, as well as a large table perfect for meal prep, dining, and game nights! The kitchen receives natural light from 3 directions, and is a gorgeous centerpiece of the house. It is also fully stocked with dishes, cups, utensils, pots and pans, crock pot, rice cooker, toaster, electric pancake griddle, and coffee maker.

The beautiful full bath has gentle natural light, and includes a tile shower with ceramic tub combination, and pretty counter/sink. A full size washer and dryer are included, and are enclosed in a closet in the bathroom for your convenience.

This beautiful property offers a 1/2 acre of land with a fire pit, tree swing, hammock, and BBQ.

Other amenities included with your stay are: WiFi access, board games, outdoor games (football, soccer ball, basketball etc...), and roasting sticks for the campfire.

Great spot for exploring
The house was great and had everything we would need to go exploring and come home to a nice relaxing clean spot. The back yard view was amazing and the kitchen is well stocked. The labels on everything were very helpful. The beds were comfy and we really enjoyed our time here.

Great house.
This was an amazing house. It was well appointed and exceptionally clean. The house is located within a block of the small country highway, but I heard very little noise inside. The house is very close to Waterton and I highly recommend staying here.

We loved staying here. So peaceful. Love the decorating. Well stocked kitchen. 16 min to Waterton national park. In the park is Cameron Lake worth the drive so pretty. Would stay again with no hesitation.

Lovely cottage with upgraded appliances, full kitchen and comfortable outdoor surroundings. Nearby Waterton National park gets dark earlier than Mountain View, so its possible to drive back at evening twilight from the park to the cottage where you can still enjoy watching fabulously stunning sunsets for another half hour or more!

This place was amazing, extremely clean, modern and had everything you needed for kitchen cooking. Amazing view of the mountains. Only 15 min from Waterton which is ghost town during the winter season, however that brings out the wild life. the property was just perfect for a family of 5-6, I would love to stay again during the summer season.

Exploring Waterton
Our young family had a great time at the cabin while exploring Waterton. The cabin was well stocked and clean. It was situated near a school playground which was great for the evenings. A general store is also nearby which was great for a quick snack stop. Would stay again when visiting Waterton.

We enjoyed our stay and the location was very nice. Easy access to Waterton and great hike there. Originally thought prices were in CDN $ and got surprise of extra $ for conversion from US $. Deck screen door was very sticky and needs attention. Overall the stay was very enjoyable. Thank you.

Very nice property close to Waterton
We had a fantastic time in the sunset cottage. It was very clean and very nicely renovated. The owner went above and beyond to outfit the cottage with everything one might need for a pleasant stay - fully loaded with dishes, kitchen utensils, appliances, barbecue, linens, toys and games, and more. Outside there was a swing and a hammock that the kids enjoyed. We had plenty of room for our family of 5. And despite the heat outside we managed to keep the inside nice and cool. The west-facing deck was definitely the cherry on the cake with nice sunset views. The property is only 15 minutes drive from Waterton, so very handy to go see all the sights but allowing us to come back to a more quiet location in the evening. We would definitely stay there again.

Cute Little Cottage for a Girls Trip
What an adorable little cottage with a fantastic view of the mountains. The property is perfect for any group getaway. In the yard they have a lovely fire pit with chairs, wood, and roasting sticks to use. They also have a deck around the back that has a BBQ on it and some chairs facing the mountains. Inside the cottage was just as perfect. There are 2 bedrooms, one with 4 bunk beds if you wanna get close with your friends, and a master bedroom with a big bed if you prefer. The kitchen has everything you might need, tons of dishes to choose from (both plastic and ceramic) and a great stove and fridge. The bathroom is just the right size and the shower is very easy to operate. There is also plenty of storage if you are planning to stay awhile. 10/10 would return to this lovely cottage.

We loved this little bungalow. It was clean well-equipped, and close to Watertown. Loved the horses and cows nearby. Never saw the sunset due to heavy smoke, but we loved our 3 nights here. Our host was very responsive and made some good suggestions as to activities. Keep the price reasonable, and we’ll be back!

This little cottage is in a perfect location. View of the mountains and we had visits from the neighboring horses at least twice per day. Easy access to Waterton National Park. The accommodation was very clean and equipped with everything that would be needed for a short or long term stay. Nicole was very prompt on her response when we had any questions!
