Stunning Log Home on Private Lake- Country at its best

Beautiful Tri level log home situated on several private acres with its own non motorized lake. Well equipped kitchen, cozy living room with electric fireplace, loft area great for kids play, laundry room, 3 bedrooms( King, Queen, 2 twin beds and futon), 2 full baths, Large bar and gathering area with walkout patio, great for grilling. Spacious wrap around porch with plenty of seating. Huge well manicured lawn offers beautiful views of the water and surrounding hills. If you like privacy this is the place for you. Ideal family get away or perfect honeymoon spot. Great place for children, lots of lawn to run around on, many activities provided. There are no pets, parties or smoking allowed. We also have a minimum rental age of 30 for the primary renter. For security reasons there are cameras viewing the entrance doors.

Amazing
We are four long time friends that found this Retreat through my daughter-in-law. This is our 2nd and we live it. Everything you could need is provided. We kayak, eat lots, play games on the wrap around porch, but there is so much more to do. You really need to stay here and see for yourself. here.

Ray's Retreat is just that. A beautiful setting to enjoy all that Central New York has to offer. If you are hiking, antiquing, visiting the local college campuses or just "retreating," this is the place.

Commencement Weekend
We stayed at this LOVELY property more than two years ago while visiting our son at school. At that time, the home was absolutely spotless and well-appointed and the property was beautiful. We promptly booked it for our son's commencement weekend two years later. Having now returned to the property two years later, it was just as spotless, beautiful and conveniently located as we remembered! Highly recommend!

Relaxation and Serenity.
For those looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway this is the place to be. The cabin was well-stocked and very clean. The property is large with plenty of space to roam around or take a stroll. Most of all, staying here is a lot of fun due to the tons of games and activities available both inside and out. Nighttime offers some magnificent star-gazing opportunities as well as a firepit by the lake. To sum up this is a great place to create new joyful memories with family and friends.

Vacation Paradise
We have been staying at Ray’s Rustic Retreat for several years and can’t say enough good things about this home! The minute you drive through the gates and see this stunning property you realize you are somewhere very special. The cabin is extremely clean, beautifully decorated and lacking nothing for an enjoyable stay. The furniture and beds are very comfortable, something you don’t always find in a rental! The property is very well maintained and beautifully landscaped. You can just sit on the porch and take in the gorgeous view of the pond and rolling hills beyond or you can enjoy the great fishing, the water toys or the many games and activities provided by the hosts. Speaking of the hosts, Maureen and Jim go above and beyond to make certain you have a wonderful stay at Ray’s. We have visited this property twice now, and liked it even more the second time. The house is great. The huge, private property with the lake and fun games provided make it a must stay for friends and family. Great place to bring the family for a relaxing time in a beautiful part of NY state!

Ray’s Retreat
Wonderful property! So much to do. Went Kayaking for the first time, took our kids fishing for the first time and had a few camp fires. The cabin was fully stocked with everything you could need and very clean. Loved this property. We throughly enjoyed our stay!

The property and cabin are absolutely gorgeous. There are many movies, games and activities available for every age group. It is so peaceful and relaxing. Just loved sitting on the porch in the rocking chair and watching the pond.

The cabin is in great condition, very private, and better than advertised. The hosts were kind and very communicative. There were so many fun things to do inside or out rain or shine. The cabin is very well stocked and lovingly cared for. Our grandson declared "It is the best cabin EVER!"

Our family came to celebrate Colgate graduation and it was the perfect location. 15-20 minutes away and such a cool house with beautiful views and so many activities to do at the house…corn hole, paddle boat, badminton, horseshoes etc. just a fantastic getaway totally private and comfortable

Relaxing
Ray’s Rustic Retreat is absolutely gorgeous! It was everything that our family needed… it had so many activities to do at every age level. The fishing however took first place with our family as an activity. Maureen was very responsive to our emails and was very helpful before and during our stay. The cabin was very clean and it just made you feel so welcome!! We plan to return again!

It was so nice, we decided to come back!
This was our second stay at this property. We stayed last summer & loved it so much, we decided to come back this year! The house & the property are wonderful. The house is very, very clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. And the property is just beautiful & incredibly peaceful. Our family loves fishing in the pond, going out in the boats, and playing in the big yard. We will definitely be back in the future!

Clean, Spacious, Beautiful!
This place was perfect. We had 3 families meet here for the holidays. There was plenty of space for everyone, the decorations were amazing, and the downstairs was an extra bonus. The view of the pond and trees really made us feel comfortable and one with nature. We definitely we be back and probably during summer months next time!

Spacious, clean and decorated!!!
This property is perfect for our multi-family holiday gatherings. There is plenty of room and this cabin is always clean and well maintained. If needed, the property owners are easy to contact and pleasant to deal with. The holiday decorations are always an added bonus! We've stayed here 3 times during the winter months and have loved it. It looks like there is even more to do during the summer months - we're looking to book this place again!

It was like coming home again. The weather was perfect for us, this time and we ended up spending most of our time out on the porch listening to the birds and watching Victoria and Albert (2 resident Canada geese) caring for their 3 babies. Everything we needed was at the cabin and each year we find that we can pack less and less because the cabin is so well provisioned with amenities.

Lodging for nephew's wedding
We will looking for a fun and comfortable spot for our family (couple with adult children and partners) while we attended events for a family wedding in Utica. It was an easy scenic drive to Utica. The rustic retreat was clean, lovely and well-equipped for fun. During our quiet times, we were able to play their Kan Jam in their large yard. Kitchen was well-stocked and even had an electric griddle for pancakes. The beds were also comfortable after some long days. It was perfect for us. Thank you.

Amazing Property!!!!
I was in town for my 45th high school reunion. This is our second time renting this property, and we will be back in the fall. Maureen is a great host. I have never been to a VRBO that was so heavily stocked with starter goods, like spices, laundry, cleaning products, paper goods etc. The grounds are immaculate, the cabin is immaculate, and the deer and the geese come every day. We can’t wait for our time in the fall. I highly recommend this property.

Hamilton College Graduation Weekend
Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with our family. The photos do not do justice to the location and interior of your home. The house is situated in a very private location with tranquil views of nearby mountains. The home itself was immaculate and Maureen and Jim have thought of everything a visitor might need....from health and beauty items to paper goods and kitchen essentials. We loved the outdoor porch, barbecue and backyard seating where we enjoyed many meals. This home is perfect for vacations but should not be overlooked by Hamilton families (and Colgate!) when they come for visits!

Heaven on earth.
We visited for the Cooperstown Baseball Hall of Fame induction in July. I’ve stayed at many properties through home away mainly at beaches... this place was absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect. Maureen and Jim answered every question super fast. The property had more than enough to do. If I lived closer I’d rent it for the entire summer. So much provided from linens to fishing gear and outdoor games. I’ve been home for 24 hours and I have true vacation withdrawal. Can’t wait to stay again. I’d give 100 stars if I could.

Hidden Gem. Secluded, breathtaking views on sprawling country property.
We took a winter getaway presidents week. Couldn't have been happier. This secluded country home was spotless immaculately kept and impeccably decorated. Views of Beautiful snow capped rolling hills in all directions deer running across property at dusk. This house just felt like home. The home has everything fully stocked, just bring food and sense of adventure and desire to relax. We've stayed at a lot of vacation homes, but never one more relaxing and warm. This house just has a great vibe and warm feel, wonderful for family getaway. Maureen and Jim were great everything was answered with expedience and they couldn't have been more accommodating. We are already planning to go back.
