Shorebirds Resort , a bit of a kept secret on Monterey Bay, is nestled in protected natural habitats on the edge of farmland and a marine sanctuary. From your home on the beach you can totally unplug. Read a good book, watch for whales and dolphins or take long walks on a practically deserted beach. Or you can just let go…..fly a kite, kayak in the nearby slough, paddle board off the Santa Cruz harbor or ride a roller coaster!

Whatever outside beach side activities you enjoy, Maison Jean-Marie will be your personal sanctuary when you come home. The space is designed for comfort; cooking a great meal with local ingredients from nearby farm stands and fishers; Sip on some of the great wines from the Santa Cruz Mountains or locally brewed beer. An evening bonfire and smore's are a popular activity on this beach.

Maison Jean-Marie (named after our parents Jean and Marie) is our second home. We make it as inviting to you as we want it for ourselves and our friends. A large wall to wall window and deck provide a massive view of Monterey Bay. Look for whales, dolphins, seals and the occasional otter while enjoying your morning coffee. There’s an never ending fly-over of pelicans.

The condo is luxuriously and comfortably furnished to match a true coastal experience.

Amazing ocean views and great host!
We really enjoyed the time we spent at Pajaro Dunes and found the host and property to be exceptional. We were looking for a quiet retreat surrounded by nature and found it! Easy access to go north to San Francisco and south down Highway 1.

Great Beach Stay!
This is our 8th stay at Pajaro and this was the best condo experience we've had! The place had everything you needed and felt so homey and warm!! Great view of dunes and ocean! We took some friends of ours who had never been and they can't wait to go back again! A new yearly tradition has started!

Fourth or fifth time to Pajaro Dunes, which tells you how much we (two old friends on their annual getaway) like this place. The ocean view from the condo was so relaxing. We played golf, went whale watching and hiked. Marc was a very gracious and responsive host

Relaxing getaway to the beach.
We had a very relaxing extended weekend at this property. The pre rental communication was very thorough, welcoming and helpful. The property is exactly as described in the listing and in photos. We were a small group - just three of us - so we had plenty of space. We cooked all our meals in the open kitchen, using the plentiful cookware and enjoyed the open floorplan. We loved opening the sliding door to hear the ocean - the beach is just steps away! A great unit for a relaxing beach getaway.

Great Beach Condo!
Our family of four stayed at this beach condo for a long weekend and found it very comfortable! We loved the close proximity to the beach and were pleasantly surprised about the beach itself - it had soft sand, great shells, adorable sandpipers, mild waves, and very few people. We felt like we discovered a hidden gem! The condo was well stocked and had all that we needed. Overall, it was a very peaceful getaway.

Great Time with Family!
We had a wonderful long weekend get away at Marc's comfortable condo. It was such what the doctor ordered for some rest and relaxation at the beach. We love the ocean view from the condo and a short walk to the beach. My kids also really enjoyed being able to shoot hoops, located at the tennis courts. If you need some much needed R&R, this is the place!

Check-in easy at 24 hour manned gate. Glad we arrived in DAYLIGHT to locate unit. Surprised by low range 57-68 weather. Everything needed to cook breakfast nice. Carpet a little tired, recommend stretching master. Great host communications. We we’re comfortable and would stay there again.

Beachfront serenity and beauty!
My fiancé and I loved this place!!! The condo is the perfect amount of space, decorated tastefully, and of course has stunning views of the ocean right from the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom. Hearing the waves pounding on the shore as we fell asleep every night is my idea of relaxation:) Everything you need for preparing a tasty home cooked meal is stocked in the kitchen, right down to olive oil and condiments! Marc was so easy to communicate with - very quick responses - and I can tell he takes great pride in maintaining this property and ensuring that his guests have a wonderful stay. Thank you Marc for a lovely vacation! We’ll be back!

Maison Jean-Marie is a wonderful retreat!
Maison Jean-Marie is a little gem of an oasis. The condo is very tastefully decorated and has everything you could possibly need for an enjoyable stay. I loved the family mementos and pictures throughout the condo - you felt like you were staying in someone's home - not just in a rental. It was great to wake up to ocean views and have coffee and croissants on the deck - or watch the sunset from the same deck with a glass of wine. The beach is literally steps from the front door and they provide everything you would need for a day at the beach. From the time I arrived, the owners checked in with me to make sure I had everything I needed. They made me feel very welcome. I only gave it 4 stars on location - not because of the condo (it has a great location) but because Pajaro Dunes is several miles out of town and not central to many things. Carmel is only 40 minutes away if you don't mind the drive. As their website says, Maison Jean-Marie is truly the place to "distance yourself from this crazy world". I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Annual Gymnastics Meet
Our boys gymnastics team visits Watsonville every year around this time for competition. We had some friends stay at Pajaro Dunes last year and recommended this general location. When searching the available units I came across this one. I was very pleased with the hosts communication and instructions, it was throughly-detailed where I did not need to reach out for anything during our stay. The unit was exactly as expected. Beds were very comfortable and the unit was well stocked. The beach toys and equipment was a nice touch. (A wagon would be been helpful to get the toys and equipment to the beach, but we got back and forth just fine :). A very little detail, but one that stood out to me was the make-up face wipes proved by the host. It happened to be the brand I used and very useful to not dirty up towels. :)
