Luxury African Tent W/ A/C, Waterfall, 300 acre ranch on the Brazos River! "Amazing"- FW Mag Tubing!

"Beautiful!"- Good Morning LA tv show

No crowds!- Sundancer sits in a beautiful forest on a magnificent deck overlooking Comanche Creek and your own waterfall! The tent (with central air/heat) has only the trees and birds for your neighbors. (see our video in the 3rd pic to the right).

“You only hear the wind and the trees” - 360 West Magazine

We imported Sundancer from Africa; it has a with a full bath (with over-sized shower), luxurious bedroom/linens, and so much more! It's on a 300+ acre working cattle ranch, with lots of river frontage!

The Fort Worth Star Telegram called Sundancer "The Best of Both Worlds" ie of nature and comfort.
The Travel Channel (online) called it "Irresistible!"

Come see why! (And note our lower weeknight rates!)

Come meet (& feed) Dennis the donkey, his girlfriend Sugar, and all his other barnyard friends! - see pics

"A cool safari getaway" - 360 West Magazine

Some activities:
- Visit our Barnyard and collect your own farm fresh eggs from our hens! Make friends with Dennis the donkey and his girlfriend Sugar, and all their barnyard friends!
- Axe throwing at the barn!
- Horse experiences for kids!
- Relax and read a book on the deck while you listen to the waterfall
- Hike the easy one mile trail to the river!
- THERE IS NOTHING ELSE LIKE OUR STRETCH OF THE BRAZOS RIVER. There simply are no other places on the river where there are SEVERAL SETS OF RAPIDS to play and tube through!
- Chairs overlooking the river are provided
- Kayaks and tubes are provided! Or (my fave) enjoy a beverage while sitting IN the rapids in one of the light plastic chairs, as the river gurgles and splashes around your feet. Great sunsets from the river!
- Build a fire in the fire pit- wood provided! (Bring your own s'mores!)
- Grill your favorite steak- grill is connected to a permanent propane tank-- no bottles!
- Enjoy the Japanese soaking tub (one of the only wood-fired hot tubs in America!)
- We have the ONLY fairy forest in Parker County; build a fairy house out of sticks and branches, which keeps the fairies coming back!
- Try your hand at roping- we'll teach you!
- Play one of the many games we provide or work a puzzle, or zone out while coloring one of the adult coloring books (but please stay in the lines!)
- We can set up a private cabana on one of the islands (small fee).
- We can shuttle you up river, where you then enjoy a 2 hour float back to the ranch! (Small extra fee applies).
- Visit our new Petrified Wood Lab, complete with magnifying glasses-- learn what it was like here millions of years ago!
- Visit the Painted Rock Station; kids love to paint river stones and then hide them!
- Hunt for animal tracks on one of the white sand islands, or build a sand castle.
- Fishing is good just above the rapids
- Hang out in the 3000 square foot second floor room in the barn
- Go hunting for arrowheads and petrified wood.
- Weatherford is 10 minutes away, and Granbury 20 minutes.

A portion of your rental fee will be donated to the Tarrant Area Food Bank for the less fortunate. (Last year our donation provided 12,000 meals!)

Sundancer is for re-discovering love and adventure! It is a couples' paradise, and is also perfect for a personal retreat.

The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Commanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller’s Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood; they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!)

We offer discounts for one week stays.

Beautiful quiet place
We arrived just as darkness fell. It would have been nice to have some outside lights turned on for us. The deck railings are showing signs of wear, many of the ropes on the railing were broken and wood warped. Also it would have been nice if someone had swept the deck area and the outdoor seating area prior to our arrival. I had to do that myself before we could enjoy the outside areas. Be aware the "kitchenette" is really just a bar area with mini fridge and tiny sink & microwave but we made it work. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Once we figured out how to turn on the waterfall (we hadn't realized from the pictures or description that it was a water feature on a timer) we enjoyed that as well. The shower was lovely and the bed adequate. We didn't use the hot tub at all because the water looked dirty and having to build your own fire to heat it seemed a bit daunting. What we most enjoyed during our stay was our long walks (1.5 miles) each day to the river. The land around the property itself is beautiful.

Cozy, secluded, upscale, must see!
"Luxury tent" doesn't say enough to describe this place. It is absolutely the most charming, well-thought-out, lovely little hideaway in the woods I could ever imagine. Staff was instantly responsive to any questions. We had fresh eggs from the barnyard chickens for breakfast every morning. We are planning to visit again in springtime!

Not what I expected but not bad
When searching for a place we did a filter for waterfront. This place had no waterfront only a waterfall in the back that is man made. Place is cute but when my wife walked in she said was someone murdered here?….. there are weird red stains on the ceiling most likely from the trees but still looked freaky. I thought it would be more secluded also but there is another rental right around the corner and we could hear them. Found it hard to get to the water due to all the rain we had and that was one of our main things we wanted. We honestly thought we would walk out and be on a creek from looking at the pics. It wasn’t a bad stay at all just not what we expected, especially for the price.

Great Stay at Sundancer
We had a wonderful time with our grandchildren at Sundancer. The pictures and description were spot on and we were able to enjoy all of the parts of the property. Our grandson had so much fun finding the squirrels that were placed around the property - the rock climber was his favorite! We explored the barn, built fairy houses, fed the animals, fished, used the soaking tub and explored everyday. Great memories for sure!

Overall great trip
I was nervous to have a “glamping” vacation, but this was just what I needed. We utilized the whole property. The waterfall is set on a timer, so be sure to find the button to turn it on. It got a little cold at night even with the heaters, but there is a space heater to utilize, which we did! We brought a griddle to make breakfast, but the grill would still have been perfect to use, and we sure did! Altogether a great trip

A Bit of Solitude
The photos are pretty much exactly like the property. The inside of the yurt is nicely done. Bed comfortable. If I would change something , it would be to add space to keep your groceries and a place to prepare food. It is very small. I would suggest bringing a small folding table or card table. The shower was great. But definitely the best things about this property was the hot tub and the "on demand" waterfall. So much fun. The walk to the river is a long way and a bit confusing on the directions. You can also drive which we did the second time we went. River is nice. One kind of downside to the remoteness of the cabin is there is one being built about 150 yards from ours and there was numerous cars going back and forth. But they really weren't noisy at all but walking around half dressed wasn't an option. LOL. There were some really nice extras that the cabin proivded like coffee pods, fire starters and nice body wash & shampoo. All and all we enjoyed our get away.

First anniversary
I arrived early because I had convinced my wife we were going camping in a tent. I am mediately fell in love with the place. Ready to move in and stay forever. I got everything set up and the stay was amazing. I wish we would’ve been able to stay for at least a week rather than just a couple of days. We live in the country but the set up here was beyond amazing. Everything you could need is already there you don’t need to bring much other than some clothes and the food you intend to eat. All of the little things that you may have forgotten are probably already there and ready for you to use. Absolutely amazing. The description of the amenities and how thoughtful they are about the things they provide for you is actually surprising. He really went the extra mile and it was much appreciated. Can’t wait to come back. And if he would sell me the property I’d be very interested. LOL

Great retreat in the woods
You can be away from the day to day and only be 20 minutes from a city. Great location and wonderful property with a mile walk to Brazos river and your own private on demand water fall. The soak tub was amazing and the fenced in area let you enjoy the animals without worrying they will be staring at you through the "tent" window. The tent is awesome, more like a cabin but you get the tent feel. Definitely recommend.
