"I called ahead to let them know I was checking in late (8 PM) and when I did arrive I only had to wait about 3 minutes after speaking with someone through the intercom to be attended. There is parking on the street in front of the hotel. The hotel is a row house with rooms on multiple floors. My room was on the second floor and the stairway is just big enough to walk up with carry-on luggage. A full size bag would have been awkward. "We had a wonderful stay in the middle of a smaller beautiful city of Verden in Northern German. The apartment was great with all amenities that we needed, such as washer, dryer, full equipped kitchen, a wonder full park-like backyard, comfortable beds and many more. "I really liked the location as it had its own street parking with no height restrictions. The hotel was really well appointed and no complaints. The number 24 bus stop is outside which takes you into the centre and back with ease. The service was really good, and a refund on my card was done immediately. I stayed here for a week and spent a lot of time watching the staff helping guests. They were outstanding. I saw one of the hosts walk a lost tourist across the street to the airport just to show them how to find their flight the next day-even though they were not a guest at the hotel. "We were very much looking forward to this stay as a family. We arrived and as I was checking in, my son was asked “what are you doing here?”. Given he was standing with bags and next to my wife, near the reception where I was checking in - this made him feel unwelcome and the fact the security guard then continued to watch him, not a great start. The hotel has all the right pieces to make an excellent stay, it just under delivers. The room was lovely, the air conditioning in all three of our rooms was inadequate in late August. The dinner was lovely but it wasn’t busy yet we waited 40 minutes for our mains, then we had to ask for dessert menus and then they left us and we had to go up and order them. Five mains, three desserts with a few drinks came to £250 which was punchy. Finally - to have a menu which describes the many steaks in portion’s including “lady size”, for I think a 200g steak as opposed to simply by the weight was just too 1970s and misogynistic/sexist, something we as a family were all quite annoyed by. I ended up having to walk up to pay at the end. The service when they were at our table was good, it is just they left us. The gym is well appointed but I suspect if the hotel was even half full, it would be too small. All in all, this is a beautiful hotel with a stunning view but the staff were unattentive, rude or just not bothered. This is except for the reception staff themselves, who I dealt with - who were lovely, welcoming and hospitable. "

"Toller Garten nur für uns, für die Kids viel zum Spielen und Platz zum toben. Nette Vermieter, der Brötchenservice ist ein toller Bonus, man muss morgens nicht wegfahren. Für uns war schade dass dieses Jahr Pferde ausgeschlossen waren, somit hätten wir ggfs keinen Hof mit Pferdezucht ausgewählt. Mit dem Auto kommt man schnell zu Ausflugszielen und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten. "

"This is a very unassuming property that exceeds expectations on every front. On paper, you're getting a 2 star guesthouse. In practice, this is a great traditional German resturant (with German sized portions) with a small number of very comfortable rooms. The hosts are very helpful and friendly. Parking (free) is safe and directly outside the nain door. The area is that it is situated in a small village in very oeaceful surroundings. "
