Beautiful building in the heart of town. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast and Dinner beautifully cooked. Plenty parking space at the rear of the hotel, but you need to drive around the one way system to reach it. If you miss its location, the hotel provided good directions to locate the entrance.

My stay at the Royal Oak was wonderful. My room was exceptional, from all amenities to a very comfortable bed. The staff in every area was professional, friendly and very helpful. I especially enjoyed my breakfasts and the afternoon tea I shared with my friends from the area. I highly recommend this hotel in every respect.

Great Stay
All good. Its an old hotel with beams, so noneof the walls are flat or straight this adds to the charm and it is decorated well. They have sufficient friendly staff which is great. Breakfast very good too. Would go back.

What a lovely hotel. It was an older hotel with bar and restaurant, but was decorated very cozy! The staff were exceptional and you could tell they all loved their jobs, as taking care of their guests was their top priority. The welcome letter in our room was also nice. We traveled all over Scotland and England for 17 days and this was our favorite stop. If we ever get to travel to Wales again, we will stay here!

Room too hot and noisy to sleep.
The room was far too hot to sleep, even with the radiator shut off. The window could be opened but noise from fans outside made it too noisy to sleep. Other than that the hotel was good. Staff were friendly although unconcerned about the heating problem. Breakfast was good.

Brilliant staff. Very helpful. Old and character filled but spotlessly clean. Meals were very good also. Brought friends to show them where I was brought up, and really proud of the quality of the Royal Oak's offering.

Did not receive an itemized invoice when I checked out. Was told that Expedia woukd provide that! I've always received an itemized bill with any hotel stay, car renta, etc, even using a third party. Quite rude if yiuthink about it. I have a charge I don't recognize. I'll just refuse to pay it until I get documentation!
