"Stayed in small camping pod and loved it. Loved the atmosphere there. Overall, much greater than I expected, and I already was excited for the stay. the restaurant overlooking the waterfalls and river, the troll garden stroll, the hot tubs. All superb. It is in a remote area and provided us an excellent view of the northern lights, which we watched from the hot tub. Ideal experience, I recommend giving it a shot. "

"Stayed for one night with my husband. Plenty of parking. The one member of staff (30. Oct 2024) who checked us in, cooked our dinner, and cleaned up was awesome. We found it a little inconvenient to exit the reception area to re-enter the area with the rooms, especially as it was drizzling. The kitchenette was stocked with the necessary tools for self-catering. The sauna and hot tub were clean and adequate. Unfortunately, our shower flooded the entire bathroom. "A great tiny cottage on a working farm. There are 6 cottages available each with a small private deck. We could go out at various hours to watch the northern lights without disturbing others. There is no TV but we had wifi and the amazing scenery to keep us occupied. The owner was helpful and breakfast great. Dinner is provided if requested in advance. Highly recommend. Cozy is the best word to describe it."

"Great place, far away from everything, so buy from a store what you want because no grocery store in radius of 50-60 km. Because it is distant from lights we managed to see the Northern lights for the first time there :)"

"A wonderful stay after a long day of travel. Beautiful scenery. Adorable cottage. Northern Lights right over the mountain was breathtaking."

"This stay was very unique and enjoyable. The bus was actually spacious for two people, and there was enough room for 4 to sleep. The kitchenette was sufficient. The shareable bathrooms were very clean and plentiful. This was romantic and wonderful. The view was amazing, it was surrounded by beauty, and the farm animals made a cute addition. "

"Our family stayed at Brekka for the holiday season. The host’s directions were spot on and we found the house no trouble at night,in the snow, and never having been to Iceland before. The house was warm and clean on arrival & fully stocked with all utensils and cooking pots and pans, etc we needed for our stay. The three bedrooms and upstairs loft all got used as sleeping quarters; everyone was comfortable and the blankets sheets and pillows were all clean and inviting for a good night’s sleep....

The weather/wind in Iceland was the worst it has been in 10 years, and we briefly lost power. Our host brought us a generator, coffee, pastries, and kept us updated every step. They checked in on us often and responded immediately to any questions or concerns. They have a very detailed book on property with instructions for everything. "The location was stunning with the ocean on one side and the volcano on the other side. Very quiet and tiny village with a couple great restaurants/coffee shop. Within walking distance to the trail head of the Hellnar-Arnarstapi hike. The cottage was cozy and the beds comfy. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again!"

"Visited over the winter season and the property was spacious and very clean. There was a gentleman who shovelled snow off my rental vehicle every morning before I even woke up. There were tractors working overtime to ensure the roads were clear of excess snow. The apartment is close to the capital and easy to find. Will visit again "

"Comfortable and cosy apartment very centrally located but set in a quiet courtyard. Felt very safe and secure. Overall cleanliness was good but the tiles in the bathroom could have done with a scrub. I would also recommend a mat for the front door entrance to wipe slushy boots. "I got my rental car broken into and my property stolen on the second to last night I was there. Has nothing to do with Bolholt I’m just saying be careful if you do stay here don’t leave anything in your car. Nice rooms comfortable and clean, 5 minute drive into the main part of the city."

"We stayed here for 3 nights on our first visit to Iceland. The hotel was in an ideal location - only a 15 minute walk from the bus terminal, right on the Laugavegur street of shops and restaurants but in the quiet area, 5 minute walk to the water edge for some stunning views of mountains. Staff were friendly and helpful, easy check in, clean and spacious rooms with a hot shower and clean bathroom, decent hot and cold breakfast options from 7-10. We had an early check out on our last day and the staff provided an early coffee and croissants before 7:00 (you just need to mention this the evening before). We would definitely recommend this hotel and we would happily stay here again. "
