Misleading description
Pictures and description make it sound like there is a lake view (There isn’t any) it should be added to listing that there is no lake access from property.

The house was good except the steep driveway and a neighbor yelling at us while driving in and even blocked the road in once!

Lake retreat
This cabin in the pines and near the lake is very well decorated, updated and charming. It is fully equipped for all your cooking needs. The host was willing to fulfill our needs and answer all questions. She listened to suggestions to make other tenants more comfortable for future stays. We enjoyed being near other family members only a short 1/2 mile from us. Convenient location. Thank you Kasha for sharing your beautiful retreat with us. Ramona Schmid, Ione, Ca

Very Nice Cabin w/ Some Minor Issues
I stayed at this property with my family of 3 (2 adults, 1 child). Overall, we had a very nice visit with a few minor issues. The cabin itself was lovely. It was rustic/modern and appeared to have been either recently built or recently remodeled. It was clean and pleasant and surprisingly large for its square footage. The three bedroom were not large but were more than sufficient. The combo of the downstairs living space and the open second-story loft gave the property an open and spacious feeling that we really enjoyed. The owner was communicative and available to help with anything we needed, and the check-in process was as easy as could be. There were no major issues, but there were several minor annoyances that may or may not be important, depending on your needs. We stay in a LOT of vacation rentals (in fact, we're on a six-month road trip now, all of which is being spent in vacation rentals), and this unit had one of the less well-equipped kitchens we've stayed in, in terms of cookware, etc. There were also some odd design decisions that made the stay a little less comfortable. For example, the two upstairs bedrooms had nice, normal-sized closets, but the master bedroom downstairs had only a small half-closet. As a result we had to put most of our hanging clothes in the upstairs bedroom and commute back and forth between the two to get ready and dressed in the mornings. There was also a very large shower in the master bedroom but no towel bar, just one hook next to the shower door. Also, the internet was almost unusably slow. This probably won't be of great importance to most folks who are out for a relaxing lake vacation, but this was partially a work trip for me, so it was noteworthy. Finally, the listing was NOT kidding when it noted the challenges of getting to the property. It was up an incredibly steep dirt driveway. We have 4WD, so this was okay, but I would have felt nervous trying to navigate the driveway without it. Also, because it was one-way, you have to back down the driveway, which was a little nerve-wracking. Bottom line: we had a very nice stay with a few minor irritations. If none of the issues I mentioned bother you, then you'll greatly enjoy this charming, cozy property.

Beach poor
The East Shore of Lake Almanor is rocky and offers very limited public beach access. To find a beach you must drive to the west side.

nice get away
had a good stay at this nice mountain home. took a little searching to figure out the public access to the lake. it's straight across from the mailboxes. we put down our own anchor/ bout and played for 5 days.. it's about a 1/4 mile walk. we did check out Westwood beach just a 1/4 mile farther down the road it's nice to.

loved it
The house is lovely. Few things to keep in mind There is no AC which means it is hot and there are no fans, so bring fans lots of fans. The house faces into the sun all day and they have no shade or umbrellas on the patio so bring some. We brought two canopies that covered the whole deck and made the sun not shine in though the glass windows all day which helped to keep it cool. We thought of this place as upgraded camping, we had a bed and a shower but no AC or internet/wifi. We spent most of our time on the beach. They said the water was right across the street and this was true but it is all private property and you have no access so we drove to the damn and played on the free beaches everyday. The kitchen says it is fully stocked but it is not. Bring your own spices. We really did have a great time just be prepared.

Beautiful and Comfortable Cabin
This is a beautiful cabin and everything was exactly as listed. We truly enjoyed our week at this well appointed home. The owner was also very kind and quick to respond to any questions we had. I would definitely recommend this cabin and would definitely rent it again. Thanks Marcy for allowing us to book your home and for promptly replying to any concerns.

Comfy cabin with a great deck
Great cabin for a family or two -- compact but plenty of room, with a fantastic, big deck for lounging and stargazing. There is not direct lake access, but we found a nice little beach a few miles down the road. The driveway is very steep with loose gravel - we barely made it up with our front-wheel drive.

Fantastic
The only issue was no WiFi or cable. TVs are hooked to Blu Ray player only. Need to put that in the description. Other than that perfect newer unit.
